I on the other hand can make a man go gray overnight.
Come to think of it, my hair was brown before I met you. Not blaming you; just stating a fact.
Hope you can make it.

Khanom,
Is there going to be a food fest? If so what night and what can I do to help? Left a message on your phone letting you know I'll bring extra lights if we need them.
Looking forward to seeing you and Vicky,
H

FACELIFT CAMPING - CHANGES AND UPDATES
With regard to FaceLift camping, we're working on a system whereby the camp hosts in Yellow Pines, Upper Pines and Camp 4 (and NPS staff as needed) get updates every day or two. That way if campers' plans change, we know what's happening, and can reallocate spaces.
If your camping plans change before or during the FaceLift, please:
1. If you're already in Yosemite, let your camp host know.
2. If you're not in Yosemite, send an e-mail directly to yosemitefaceliftcamping@hotmail.com Please provide details - name(s), which campground, what the change is, etc.
If you're uncertain, be prudent, bearing in mind that if you don't need the space, others probably do. Thanks!
I believe that if you don't show up as scheduled, and don't let anyone know what you're doing, you get one night grace, and then your space is reallocated.
Harrison: plans are for the BBQ etc on Saturday night at Yellow Pines, as always: http://www.supertopo.com/climbers-forum/2128112/Yosemite-Facelift-Feast-2013
Special thanks to Sharon for organizing all the camping requests! It works out to about 1,000 camper-nights.

This is great. My dad had that stove. He was a "think about doing it" kind of a guy rather than a "just do it" guy. So it never got used. Probably still in a storage unit somewhere.
Still I loved toying with that stove as a kid and dreaming of using it to cook while resting in my sleeping bag a la Colin Fletcher. That image is no longer possible in many places.

Bummer! I won't be able to make it. Work has me totally snarged. Was really looking forward to this. Werner, thanks for the offer to hook me up with the internet access, but I need to be in the office.
As an aside, I have a few boxes of books I was hoping to take up to give away to whoever wanted them. If anyone is headed up the I5 through the Lake Forest area and is willing to do the deed I'll pass them on to you. Guide books, how to's and miscellaneous climbing subjects. pm me if you are willing to hike these up to the facelift.

Stoves are probably the reason most people got into hiking in the first place. My best hike however involved no stove. Eleven straight days eating hummis. Not a problem for me. I have had oatmeal for breakfast for the last seventy years. Hummis was Cathy's idea but now she can't bear to look at the stuff.
My last breakfast will be oatmeal. Probably indicates low order function in one of the human characteristics.
But it's CHEAP!

Looks like I won't be bringing the wheel barrow. I was going to bring the truck but the wife thinks we should take the car. So no bike either. Damn. I may still get the wheelbarrow in if I get it in a box and assemble it in Camp 4.
Not sure I have enough cams for my El Cap ascent. Wadda ya think?

Hey! Got wheelbarrow donated by my boss. 6 cubic yard monster. Assembling now. Will disassemble and reassemble on arrival. After the trip it will be donated to Camp 4 for climbers and campers to use.
No bike this time. Damn I was looking forward to conserving fuel and time. Plus the added benefit of the workout.

Fletcher sez, This is great. My dad had that stove. He was a "think about doing it" kind of a guy rather than a "just do it" guy. So it never got used.
I never used mine, either, but it didn't lay in storage. It tried to self-immolate in the BC woods. We never got it to work.
You know the two word drill as well as I.
It happened in Canada, naturally, but I bought the unit in Berkeley.
It was near Chilliwack we had the gas attack...in seventy it was.
It was white. It burned vivid blue-ish until I could extinguish.
It could have 8R lunch!
Erik,
Here's my alternative, based on JStan's boringly effective diet, to the gold stannard. A visit here.
