aren't unemployment figures a bit skewed because they only show the percentage of people gathering/ filing for UI? Once they run the course of their benefits, then they're not on the list anymore- that 10% in CA could really be 15% or more, no?
I'm genuinely curious, I've heard that before on the radio to some degree, but don't remember the specifics of how they get that number.

If you look at the stats closely, the rise in unemployment has closely paralleled the percentage rise in neck tats and gauged ear lobes which has also paralleled the rise in old white guy anxiety.

Yeah, let's make 'em fight with each other. I know... TEAMS!

Make it simple. Two colors. Red and Blue. And we need puppets. Everyone just loves puppets.

The sheeple can pick which puppet they like best.

Until the bread and circus runs out, the sheep will continue to bleat and run from one end of the pasture to the other. Once the true value of the USD is realized, and faith in green slips of paper falters, things can get ugly and bloody very quickly.

Now will that take 2 years or 100 years? Other 'faiths' have lasted much, much longer based on much less. Nobody knows when but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

End of the world? Probably not. But you better have real skills and real friends.

Ron, if you please, but you do not come across as being independent to me. Perhaps just my perception.

If I was shrink, and thank gawd I am not, but I would say that your obsession of hating Obama borders on the psychotic side.

Is it his name? His mixed ethnic heritage? Oh no, it couldn't be his politics.

You are swimming against the tide on this thread. That is your right. But don't you think, reflecting on your posts, that you might be a tad bit obsessive over your distaste of the current administration?

And I have to ask, do you really think that the Bushie Boy's pals did any better? Or that McCain could have cleaned up the mess?

The ball is in your court Ron.

And you voted for Bush, both terms, didn't you. Now don't lie. Be honest. You are among friends, some that agree with you, some that do not. But be honest.

It's not just you, Patrick. Ron's been trying to convince everyone that he's some kind of disillusioned independent who's saddened at the prospect of having to vote for Rmoney.

Okay Ron, fair play, you clarified your position.

So you are willing to bet that Romney will turn things around, if my take on your posts are correct. Okay. If he does get elected POTUS, let's hope you are right, for the sake of our country. But my gut feeling says otherwise.

Of course Obama is not perfect. Are you? Am I? Anybody?

You said you gave Bush one term then, if I am correct in your posts, then you ditched him? (Not a bad idea.)

For who? Ron Paul? Ralph Nader? Ross Perot (oops, wrong election).

I would suspect, and correct me if I am wrong Ron, that you voted for Bush in 2004 also.

Ron, your sentiments show through, and in someways they are not bad sentiments, to you at least. But I say, give Obama a bit more time. Remember the story of Hercules and the Augean Stables? Will, Obama has had a similar task.

Cut him down if you want, but he is a damn sight better than Dubya.

"Cut him down if you want, but he is a damn sight better than Dubya."

And in comparison to Rmoney...well....at least we kinda knew what Dubya was about....

Ron, you and the rest of the IndeRepubs are gonna vote for Rmoney knowing damn well that he was your least desirable choice, and you still have no idea what his plans are, or what he actually stands for.

Bottom line is you are going to vote for him because he's not Obama. Don't you think that's a little lame?

Ron, you're speaking the obvious. Everyone knows the situation ain't great.

The question is what to do about it when you vote.

You have no idea what Rmoney stands for (no-one does). And that's somehow a better choice?

Ron, quit the Islamabaphobia BS. You are better than that.

I don't care if the POTUS served in the armed forces, faced war etc etc.

As long as he/she understands what war is about. The misery, the suffering, heck the cost to the taxpayer, to put it bluntly.

Mitt Romney, in my eyes, is a chancer. But it appears to many Americans that he is the better of "two evils". I ask, what has made Obama the worse of two evils.

The bullshite PR spun by the right-whingers, excuse me, right-wingers, that Obama is a socialist, a Muslim (I know and have worked with a lot of moderate Muslims, and I have known a heck of a lot of Christian fundamentalists), that Obama is the devil's work.

Excuse me, look at Mittens record. LOOK.

He was responsible for outsourcing HOW MANY jobs to the Far East. And as one article asked, how come he is not worth more than what, $250m? Maybe it is because he was not as good as the Republican spin doctors say he has been. Has been. Yeah, an has been, yet he is on the cusp of being POTUS.

Ron, and others, do you really believe this dude can deliver to YOU.

Go ahead and vote for Mittens. And see where it gets you.

Admittedly Obama is not great but he is a damn sight better than Mittens.
