Looks like I'm working Saturday (5th of 7 straight?) and won't be able to help with preparations.
Ideally I'll roll in around 20:30 and some sort of event will be well under way?
Luke, we can discuss getting my genny into your hands if you're up for helping power up the tune box and some light.

I will arrange with the chief the pick up the genny, and possibly a music player and lights.

I plan on rolling in around 530pm with my barbecue, perrys genny, somes food, refreshments and hopefully some lights and tunes.

Feel free to bring some babequables and use my grill.

See you there.

The Psyche Ledge party has been one of the highlights of the last several years for me. Meeting and hanging out with so many good people north of the border. Squamish seems to me one of the best places on the West Coast to climb and hang. I just wish I had started going there earlier. But that's just me. Most of you won't like it so don't bother. It really sucks. Yankee go home!

'...imaserious ... my mother taught me if I had nothing nice to say I should shut the hell up.

I think Carrigan did climb at Squamish. Mid '70's. I remember a note about the First Australian Ascent of the Grand Wall in the old Eryl Pardoe hut log. Some Canadians had added "Australians eat kangaroos and fxck koala bears". So clearly there wasn't love in the air. I'm not sure where the log book is..........the hut is gone now. Anders might know.

But I remember KC in Yosemite. He climbed right over top of my partner and I on a route on the Cookie. Dude !!! Ya won't make friends doing that ! ...'

Now ya talkin like an aussie !!!! I love it !!!

:D

>>> my mother taught me if I had nothing nice to say I should shut the hell up.

Get over your catholic hang ups and spill ya guts !!!

We ALL wanna hear more !!!

I actually had some fat free kangaroo for breaky !!! .... mainly cos they put so much hormones and anti biotics in the chickens and beef these days ....

BIG ASK ... can you get Anders to find it ...scan it ... post it ??? PURE GOLD for the book...

I hope everyone had fun this weekend that including some grillin' and swillin' at Psyche Ledge !

It was fun while it lasted -- but for us it only lasted until about 8 pm. So, anyone who arrived after that -- sorry we missed you. But it was great to see the early crowd and spend some time with old friends and meet a few new folks.

It looks like the the 4th annual Psyche Ledge Rendezvous came off quite well.
Hats off to Luke and Aislin for organizing things.
I didn't roll in till 21:30 and could only stay an hour as it was a "school night".
The BC Parks compliant propane fire pit added nicely to the ambience.
While the numbers weren't huge the quality of participation was excellent with appearances by some of the usual suspects as well as some newcomers.

Big Mike has outed my closet troubadour with a You Tube first.
Thankfully I didn't butcher Church Street Blues.

It's been suggested a covered timber frame shelter would be appropriate and who knows, maybe we'll have something to celebrate next year?

Yes to that!

With a bit of explanation signage or other sense of time and place?

Yes! Yes! And the signs should feature pictures of a bunch of real-world refugees, most of them still in their teens, passed out on the ground in puddles of vomit, to show the historical significance of the site!

Although there's no evidence today, Psyche Ledge was once the center of the Squamish climbing universe and the gathering place for several generations of climbers.
If we did collaborate on a suitable edifice, I assume a brief history and few photos would be required.
There are a few great photos that capture some of the youthful mayhem.
