Do you think Mit would ever pick Ron Paul as his VP? That could actually be interesting.

The trash bin of Republican Pres hopefuls in 2011
Santorum, Trump (did he or didn't he?), Palin, Bachmann, Paul, Perry, Cain, Pawlenty.
Perry's toasted himself on BOTH of his last 2 public appearances. He gets the "Hoof in Mouth Disease" award so far, with Cain running a close second.

It's so depressing that morons like these, who in a rational society wouldn't even be allowed to run for dog catcher in some bumf*#k little town, are considered to be contenders for President. It's a sad state into which we've fallen.

This kind of hilarity is precisely what a Perry candidacy brings to the table, and what I for one will miss once the Repubs finally scratch him off the list of potential national saviours.
Why do the Republican candidates all seem like characters reflected in a funhouse mirror, a little weird or out of proportion, or like bad guys from a Dick Tracy comic? This is a strange group of people.

Perhaps because nobody in their right mind would want to be president of the USA.
Perry is over. NEXT!

Spider, there's an old science fiction story, I forget the name or author, which postulated that anyone who wanted to be president couldn't be trusted with that much power.
So all offices were filled by lottery, not election. You had to enter the lottery and serve if picked, or go to jail.
So instead of a congress full of millionaire lawyers, you had a true cross section of the public.
I like that idea.

Spend some real time at WalMart.
Then tell me again how you want to be governed by a cross section of the public.

Why is it that nearly every GOP hopeful has trouble forming cohesive, comprehend-able sentences? From Palin to Bachmann to Cain to Perry, they all are well-known for a regular string of unintelligible gobbledegook. This is the 'cream of the GOP crop'?
The one guy who does seem to have the ability to speak keeps flip-flopping like a Mormon trout on a sandy Sierra lakeshore.
Maybe Obama has a shot at it, after all.

By your standard, Howard Cossell would have been the greatest president ever.
Cossell could form cohesive, comprehend-able sentences all day long, and unlike the current president, he never used a teleprompter.

Better to be ruled by honest yahoos than the crooks in charge now.

Better to simply take away government's power.
Then it wouldn't matter if they were honest, or not.
