Yeah Gonzo I'm stumped by that "Socal splitter" too. Of course this is more like the true angle, using the dangle of his gear on his harness as a gauge...
Looks like the rock on Tahquitz over by NE Butt; My Pink Half, or El Whampo, or Suicide around north by Johnny Quest but I can't place it even though it looks very familiar.

Here is an easy one.
P.S. it's not the 1st pitch you may think it is.

Here's another hint: it's not in Idyllwild.
I had kind of come to that conclusion. Hmm. Must think...

Philo - it looks like it's just right of the first pitch of Escape Artist/Comic Relief (Black Canyon fer sure)... I don't know the name though if it's an independent line...

BNuts, Your right. I think that alternate 1st pitch is a FA of mine. The whole route was a linkage of EA & CR. We called it "Comic Escape". Check out the Whillian's and Vasques.

BNuts-- I guess you are at Squamish, but I don't know my way around there. Good guess on Philo's Black route.
Friend: I think you are talking about Rob Slater for the FA of the JT route. My guess was simple simon, too, so I'm still in the dark.

MH2 scores with his correct answer - "Freeway". An awesome route for sure. You're up dude!

Thanks, Brassnuts, for bringing the game North in at least a couple of ways. It has been strange and wonderful in recent years to overhear talk in Camp 4 about going to Squamish, and guys and gals from Colorado and even crazier distances have helped me out on rope-work, too.

Yes, Friend, also known as The Left Side.
I hadn't noticed your hints on Slow Children or it would have been easier to ID it. The picture makes it look a grade harder. I only did it once, in the 80s, and the photo helps recall it.
