I find it strange that there are no Ryan Adams postings here, especially during his Dead phase? Is he verboten: has he pissed the powers that be off? Just curious.
He's not on the NAB list here, it's just that nobody here has upped any.
.. two different sources of a Ryan Adams and Phil Lesh show where Adams plays Garcia's Wolf guitar ..
1. he's totally ok to trade here
2. he's ok with sbds and auds
3. he's my favorite songwriter after robert hunter, ever.
4. it is my humble opinion that in decades to come, his songs will mean more than they do now. timeless and overlooked by many.

As has been pointed out in earlier posts, his strongest connection to the Dead is as lead singer and guitarist in Phil and Friends in 2005. The Red Rocks 2005 show where he played one of Garcia's guitars stands out, also previously mentioned in this post. Not sure how many other folks have played Jerry's guitars. Otherwise, I know he covered "Wharf rat" semi-frequently in the early 2000s. Looser connections are that he is somewhat of a chameleon musically, writes unbelievably gorgeous music, and had the same monkeys on his back as Jerry, Brent, and Trey (to reference another "connected" guy).

The album "Cold Roses" should be on the list of best albums ever IMO. Here's a copy of that Abbey Road session, removed from Youtube but allowed on Hulu via Dailymotion
