I was wondering what the tree looked like behind the man who was behind Brian Wilson. After some careful research I determined that it was this guy and the tree looked just like this (or similar).
Wilson Brothers banned
Who was behind the Everly Brothers? I do not know, but I will look in to it. I do have a good idea who was in front of them.

I wish I could say the coppery-looking shots were taken with a telephoto lens, but it's best just to say it straight out:
I fought the law and walked away with nary a scratch.
Miss LEO and her radar-gunner said, "His 65th birthday was yesterday."
There was not an ounce of karma wasted and everything gonna be "O-tay!"
The lady and her husband on the bicycles are from Montreal, eh?
And there is the oh-so-nice telephoto shot of Tom's Thumb's summit, Hocking sahib.
After turning off at Craned Flat, I sat for ten minutes. Not one car came by. Everyone was going down to the 140 junction and then into Yosemite Valley. Good---fewer people to compete for the attention of the mosquitoes at the 8-9 thousand foot level.

Not exactly roaring, I 395ed to the correct place, confident that my co-pilot heeded my prayers to just allow me to do nothing and drive.
Bella cosa far niente.
"It is beautiful to do nothing."
Just listen to nothing on the Tioga-Pasadena expressway some day.
You should be so lucky.
Any body says Moosedrool's funny but no body believes any body, so WTF.
He is smart. He's not exactly handsome. But his heart and his wallet speak volumes. Mr. Andrew, I salute you. Enjoy the picture of the Valley View. It cost you $XX.xx, but it is magic from 1941, older than Donini, and worth every red cent, as they used to say in Poland.

local chapter of the flames...
the fanciest car in the club:
The '35 Duesenberg Model SJ was owned by a friend's father, Ben Hudson, in purchased the car in 1947 for $1,500. It is pictured here with a stock 8 cylinder engine that produced 320 h.p. Mr. Hudson sold in in 1958 for $12,000.
In it's speed record setting configuration it looked like this: and had a 12 cylinder engine producing 400 h.p.
In 2004 it sold for $4.5 million at auction in this configuration:

Fast world out there in the world.
I was in only two state capitals yesterday, the that of NV and the which of CA.
Driving thru Carson City, meh.
At eleven of midnight in Sacto on !-5 at seventy mph after having no driving experience to share since 1983...still meh.

Another in an occasional series on fasteners.
These little bastards should not be included in the class of fasteners. Shouldn't be in the strawberry or lady bug class either. They are evil.
They are in the same class with these guys.
But maybe not, these other nine guys at least appear to have a sense of humour.
Stick your screw driver in the slot whilst on your back getting who knows what kind of toxic crap falling in your eyes and they just spin, spin, spin. I'm very persistent so I got 'em out, but they shoulda had they ugly little head chopped off.
That's about it for now. Next step pull the radiator out. Should be a piece of cake compared the first step.
In other newz, Fierce Battle on or about (as the lawyers like to say) Everest, no one's ear is bitten off. I hear what you're sayin'.

Bay, you need warm congratulations on Everest.
Shaking hands is a useless, even pointless gesture, not to mention dangerous process at altitude.
You never want to shake the hand of a yeti.
They are just hillbillies, after all, and enjoy hell out of squeezing city folks' hands for yucks. Rednecks all over the world, if we only knew more culture.
I blame tachers. They never let us listen to Gypsy on Musical Migrations.
In the first grade, you learn the essential difference between No. 1 and No. 2. And then in the second grade, you learn how to count the number of toilet tissues squares you need to use each time. At least that was the progression I learned.

I was wondering if that was counted down 10, 9, 8 ... you know the drill
I am informed that this is an iconic photograph and it should be posted here without further comment, since it speaks for itself.
I will observe that there are a bunch of guys in the background in a circle. Perhaps the first well documented exemplar of the climbing circle-J's that have become all the rage in climbing forums of late.
Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name (Mick Jagger said that, but I'll use it)
Half the people can count half the time
So that would be about 25% accountability

Circa eight thousand, one gets very cirques-cirques, a probable effect of going around trying to find the right tent to which to deliver the Sherpa-Sherpa, Large Size, regular crust, and olives, pimentoes, pine nuts and cranberries.
The munchies at altitude. Torture.
On a different map entirely, I was driving all over this weekend and had no map. This has been corrected.
I also was thinking of my dad's driving. His most favorite "run" was likely the Sacto to Redding, he knew where he was heading, he just had to get on the right 99N. There is now a 99S as well. Back when, we had a 99E and a 99W.
I prefered the one that got us there fastest, generally the 99W. Long before the I-5. Or any "Business 99s" came to be.
Boomer carted us around in a Chevy deluxe from 1950, gray and white, three on the column, and cords on the back of the two fold-forward bench-backs in the front seat. No seat belts, kids standing, looking over the front seat.
there was a hanging strap on the doorpostssssssssssssssssssssssssssss SMASH!!!!!
One way to wake up on a long drive...

Here's the current Flames (Berkeley Chapter) fleet. The 69 MGB and the 77 RD400 Yamaha are in the garage. The Westfalia is across the street. I think we have a vehicle hoarding problem here.

Nice rods!
Here's the one I didn't buy and which is now gone
Here's the one still available, which I also didn't buy, but might
Neither one say DeLuxe on the fender, but isn't it actions that speak louder than words anyway?
Here's the one I've been cussing at
BTW Timid, I haven't made it out to La Jolla yet to see the mural but I will and I swapped out a couple of ratty Pepper Trees for Jacarandas. Purple Haze.
This isn't one of mine, but it's a nice one.
