a vibrato sings
those are the the strings
on the old guitar
forlorn and lonely
leans on the bar
those are the notes
not carried at all
from purgatory
hear the call
the silent notes
now realize
the words that spill forth
from the eyes
the old guitar
not played of late
in silence where
it warps and waits

Photo by my niece's hubby, Adam. They took the two girls up here yesterday. The family came all the way from Idaho Falls to be with my sister this Christmas.
