bro hooblie, i wasn't aware of her daughter's voice, other than the spoken one. Lisa Simone Kelly was the executive producer of the film.
i just read the Wikipedia article concerning Nina; which hardly gives you a peak into the reality of her life. She braved some deep waters, overburdened with more ballast than anyone should have had to carry.
Here's a snippet of her mastery of the piano, voice and poignant expression of her resentment of racial inequality as well as the inequality of life in general. Includes a cover of a Dylan ballad.

Declan was cool. Who would have guessed there was Yukon music scene? For sure Declan's voice is more conventional (easier on the ears?) but I couldn't help but be reminded of this American treasure, so here I am listening to this right now.
