You can teach it in school, but as you point out it is often de-emphasized.

You can't teach critical-thinking ...

That's bull crap. You can teach it, and I've even taken a course called "Critical Thinking." I learned a lot about how people are manipulated by arguments, for example a Straw Man argument. You can learn what an ad hominem argument is, and why it doesn't hold water. You can learn how people lie with statistics. Critical thinking is actually a very rich subject, and you can learn a lot by studying it.

But one thing is for sure, you cannot teach intelligence, or the will to learn.

Shoes have soles...

People don't...

People have soles on their feet. "In humans the sole of the foot is anatomically referred to as the plantar aspect."

Locker = poor intelligence ......

I post how the election was stolen for John, and he can't get past "The RollingStone" issue of trust worthy for some reason.

Even though my whole post and links never even mentioned RollingStone!!!
and there was only one issue at The RollingStone that was a problem, and they accounted for it.

It's like a full stop from even taking a glimpse at the material in question by just claiming the whole concept is "not to be trusted" because it is associated with something in his consideration as "left Wing biased"

the New York Times, Krugman, Michael Moore, and so many other great sources for intellectual truth are bad, it's full stop... do not read.... they have been deemed biased by the string pullers ...they are on the black list.

rely on fake conservative biased news, and of course all factual news will seem biased by left wingers, since it's not spun for right wing confirmation bias.

Craig, so very true. Those who suck on the Fox News tit refuse to look at anything other than Fox News for their truth because Fox News has brainwashed them into thinking that anything not endorsed by their network is "left wing liberal media." If it's outside of Fox, it is not to be listened to, read, or in any manner absorbed for consideration.

Try to tell a Fox News addict that they need to open their mind to other news sources, and you'll know these statements to be truth.

I must be a SPONGE...

I thought that feet didn't have SOLES...

I AM AN IDIOT...

so now I support TRUMP...

Haha. Just to clarify, it is possible to be an idiot and not support Trump. It just isn't possible to support Trump and not be an idiot.

The primary difference between the Republicans and the Democrats, however, is that the Democrats spared no expense to polish and polish their turd, while the Republicans spent most of the election cycle decrying Trump AS the turd that he is.

Somebody is living in an alternate universe.

There is a loosely organized center for Critical Thinking

It's called Scientific Skepticism, and there are societies, magazines, retreats, conferences, and books on the subject.

First rule, follow the money
if big money is involved, all contrary information to science is considered untruthful.

These right wing con men have been working this system like a science to sway public opinion with fake science and BS so they can continue to make big money over the well being of society or whatever

the entire Republican Party relies on being untruthful as a way to influence their voters and Govern.

Yes, follow the money...

History is clear that deep money manipulates weak democracies to elect nationalistic populist strongmen to be the "front man" for their oligarchies.

Wow, Werner quoted something from science, that came from the brain, not the soul.

Wrong again voodoo boy.

"The human brain is a specialized organ that is ultimately responsible for all thought and movement that the body produces. Many different parts of the brain and their functions are shown in the article. Each part has a unique function that allows humans observe and interact with their environment effectively."

"I have no idea if it’s a protest, or a celebration, or just a cannabis-induced moment of inspiration, but the DC Cannabis Coalition is giving out 4,200 free joints at Dupont Circle in Washington on Inauguration Day, Jan. 20. It’s legal to give away but not to sell marijuana in Washington, hence the great price. Then 4 minutes and 20 seconds into the incoming president’s speech — you know, the weed number — the 4,200 recipients are encouraged to spark up. Things are changing in America, so it provides a brief moment of consistency when potheads pull weird attention-seeking stunts regardless of who’s in office, you know?"
