nov-may of '86-'87 was my time living in the canyons of red rock. hitched to vegas with an empty sack for supplies. a rare late start meant an allnighter marching without a bivi kit, just marching thru one casino door, take a lap and out another. riding a freight elevator between floors the door opened and in stepped BB and lucille. just me and them after a show, humilty in the presence of greatness. goodnight mr. king ... and thanks for the thrill

I stepped out of Mississippi when I was ten years old
With a suit cut sharp as a razor and a heart made of gold
I had a guitar hanging just about waist high
And I'm gonna play this thing until the day I die

I've only heard of two folks changing a string midstream in a performance without missing a beat (so to speak) Rory and Dick Dale (I saw Dick do it).

zb, Rory doesn't get the recognition he deserves, on this side of the drink, anyway.
