I guess for now the the eyes have it

Likely only Jim Clipper will catch my thread drift here, but epiretinal membranes both eyes.

Right eye (the one getting the YAG attention) was done.

"Waiting and seeing" on the left eye.

Still much better than diabetes.

take it easy mouse. honestly, i'm more worried about your ticker. those mouse watches are kind of vintage. they don't make the works like they used to. maybe don't get too wound up, and keep it kind of dry, especially if the doc says, SO! (also. maybe don't quit too fast if some monkeys have made it a habit to have your back. Withdrawl can have serious physical consequences, but again, I'm not an M.D.

SERIOUSLY, if you have had episodes of fainting, and more over temporary vision loss, take it easy and see your doc (Mr. emergency room is most appropriate). Carotid occlusive disease ain't no joke. You throw a rod, and the best fix for the rig may be a trip the junkyard. Some rebuilds simply ain't possible, so be careful with the original metal, even if it has some dents or a wrinkled panel.

If you can't hook up, if you've been spinning your heels, I may be able to help you get to your docs. (again, I'm not one). Carotid occlusive disease is serious.

Finally, my brother called once because my uncle had a sit down with his friend, and his friend's bottle of scotch. My brother was a little worried because my uncle was seeing double. In that case, it was simply self inflicted, and temporary.

With a mouse, I worry about carotid occlusive disease. My uncle was a good plumber, but you gotta see a doc for real problems with the pipes. You and my uncle would have gotten along swimmingly also. I would have liked to hang on, and hear some stories. Unfortunately, he's gone, and some old "timers", tend to gather some mud in the cogs, from the years of the ride. Take care!!!

edit: berk-ole' ole'ole'ole', throwpie:gooooooal, seein the mouse fly up high. z: membranes can be peeled if the distort vision. If you get a fixed spot in the middle (fairly rare), see an eye doc pronto. Say, I have a new spot in my eye, in the middle of my vision. It doesn't move, it doesn't go away. Google macular hole, again rare. Most ERMs, meh. Don't change much, asymptomatic. I'll be proud of you guys is you out live your lifestyles. Don't give up. Keep on truckin. No one rides for free. Climbing however...

My uncles, auntie, mom too, were all raised in hawaii. Westside for mom and one uncle. Kind of a strange place. Anyone can be uncle. The older guy at the grocery store, may he called uncle. To your friend's kids or your neighbor's, uncle.

Maybe you guys shouldn't go there....

Love that tune. My friend Marian used to play the song (haltingly) and so did my old climbing partner Jim Shirley. His Ripple was fine, me and his uncle, maybe too casual.

I've lost your phone number, but mine is on the front page of this opus.

Call me when you have a free mo.

A shot of whisdom, if you please. Courtesy of Mr. Jones.

The worse of the two is one,
who, when abused, retaliates.
One who does not retaliate,
wins a battle hard to win.

Saṃyutta Nikāya 1.188

I shall drink to that some other day.

Can I do a reverse toast?

Sure, it's never too late.

Someone much harder than me, taught. If you hit, (if you block?), relax after. Too rigid and you may get hit back again.

I think that was self defense though, ... if you have to stay up? First, better to fight without fighting. Practice?

RIPCC

Cosmic died and went to heaven.
Peter asked "You climb 5.7?"
Well, he looked old Peter in the eye, he did,
And he said, "You betcha. Who ya tryin ta kid?"

"I've climbed more miles than anyone here.
I have climbed in the desert without no beer.
I can climb this gate, if you don't mind."
Old Peter just grinned, "Don't blown yer mind."

"I quiz all the climbers who pass this way
And I love it when y'all begin to spray.
There's no need to climb the Pearly Gates.
Your seat at the campfire for you waits."

"But he's not dead, he winked 'is bloomin' eye."--Rhymy the Limey

Ha! Good advice mouse. Also, from a practiced one, I heard, "You're going to have to use your teeth." Still, he had the character, kindness, and practice that made me know he meant it.

Road Trip to Cosmic's Playground (The Return)

Right now I feel like:
I'm truckin' for the turn-off--
Lee Vining's up there and the pass awaits me.
Life's good when I'm on the road, Dylan blaring,
and a hard rain just missed me back in Bishop.

What have I seen, you ask, my darlin' younkers & oldsters?
I saw a man on a bike riding backwards.
I saw a lakebed of sage that wasn't too wise.
I saw a huge mountain of trees that were dyin'.
I saw a large lake that was saved from the masses.
I saw some young braves who were riding their skateboards.
I watched the storm over the Palisades building.
And it was a very hard rain.
Just not able to catch me in my new Red Rocket.

Pedal to the metal for a ways, then stop and take a photograph.

Two is better.

Back north I fly with my pipeful of Blue Dream.
Fish tacos? Damn. Closed. I'm really hungry for some grub.
Nothing doing on the pass, TPR's shut.
Sad, but I gotta crash out on the QT at a trailhead.
Continuing at dawn, stifling a yawn.
Dance beneath the diamond sky for a wake-up.
Forget about yesterday, it's locked in, as you can see.
The jingle jangle morning goes swiftly
and home is sweet, but so are those memories.
It's why I take photographs, I suppose.
I'm feelin' pretty old lately,
but I haven't yet reached my peak.

It was good what we did yesterday
And I'd do it once again

Keep it burnin', but no need to hurry about it.

Don't forget to leave the side door open, the gnome may still be out in the yard.

G'nite
