On Joni 75th birthday concert finale, all-star cast artists (L-R) Norah Jones, Diana Krall, Seal, Emmylou Harris, Glen Hansard, Graham Nash, James Taylor, Rufus Wainwright, Los Lobos, La Marisoul, Chaka Khan, Brandi Carlile and Kris Kristofferson perform a group sing-along of Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi.
Joni 75: A Birthday Celebration is the tribute to the legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell live at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in the Music Center, Los Angeles, CA on November 6, 2018, the first of two sold-out shows. Joni Mitchell honoree makes a rare public appearance on stage the second night. She was presented with and blew out the candles on her birthday cake. Big Yellow Taxi was a popular hit from Joni's 1970 album Ladies Of The Canyon.
The Joni 75 concert event was led by co-musical directors, percussionist Brian Blade and pianist, composer, arranger and producer Jon Cowherd. The Joni 75 house band is Chris Thomas on bass, Greg Leisz on pedal steel guitar, Marvin Sewell on guitar, Jeff Haynes on percussion, Ambrose Akinmusire on trumpet and Bob Sheppard on woodwinds.
