I have always understood (well at least after looking into it) the folks in that photo (October 5, 1965 at Ondine) to be:

Rick Danko, Bob Dylan, Bob Neuwirth, David Blue & Venetia Cunningham

Another one of those minimalist guitar numbers that Bo was so fond of.

Have you ever wondered what became of Jerry Penfound? (stage right)

I guessed on the Al Kooper and Mickey Jones, thought I was right (and still do) on the Michael Bloomfield; but I will take your word over my mine. Sure looks like Bloomfield....

George Harrison ≈ Something (The Concert For Bangladesh)

George had a lot on his mind at the time, first ever benefit of it's kind, E.C. was suffering the junker blues and George didn't know until the last minute if Bob would come out and play. Not sure if Bob knew.

Watch out now, take care
Beware of the thoughts that linger
Winding up inside your head
The hopelessness around you
In the dead of night

Beware of sadness
It can hit you, it can hurt you
Make you sore and what is more
That is not what you are here for

Blue and Bloomfield look quite alike and I initially guessed Bloomfield also.

The Ondine photo is attributed to Jerry Schatzberg and that's where I got the names from.

well that would make sense. Danko was kinda out of synch with the rest of the characters in the pic. where was it taken? I was thinking Woodstock. I searched the web before I guessed.

Speaking of Al Kooper, his out of synch keyboard notes made this song for Dylan.

Ondine was quite the place to be in the mid-sixties

The Doors played their first NY gig there at 308 E. 59th Street.

As did many others

Dallas Taylor, drummer for C,S&N debut album & Déjà Vu, died this week. He was also part of Still's debut album and a member of the Manassas band. He also did work for Paul Butterfield. His obituary noted his musical contributions and penchant for Ferrari sports cars.

Just how many Sixth Stones were there? (Ian Stewart, Jack Nitzsche, Bobby Keys, Michael Jackson (Mick taught him how to dance)).

I thought it was James Brown that gave the dancing lessons. I guess some folks just didn't roll far as stones.

So Ian Stewart gets the piano riff on 505
Keith has finally admitted that Ry gets honky tonk women riff

"What would Keith Richards Do". In it, there is a quote attributed directly to Keith in which he freely admits that Ry Cooder came up with the licks for Honky Tonk Women.

Best ever?, who knows, it's good though

i would have thought Mick Taylor tailored those riffs. Country Honk is my favorite of the two and Let IT Bleed is on the top shelf as far as the lp list.
