May 7, 1965 - "Southern Man" tour
Legion Field-May 7, 1965-Was billed as America vs England. Lineup included The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, Cannibal & The Headhunters, Marty Robbins, Sonny James, Skeeter Davis, Del Reeves, Archie Campbell, and The Righteous Brothers. I remember the DJs apologizing to Skeeter Davis. She was singing her last song when the Rolling Stones entered the stage to perform and you couldn't hear Skeeter from the screams.

^I dare ya to name all the folks in that photo. It took me a while. (Hint below *)
I'll stand on the Stones' and Dead's coffee tables in my lizard skin cowboy boots and tell ya that Walter's version is the closest to what Buddy was talkin' about.

This is such a hot mess! A train wreck! Danko is ...
Jorma playing through adversity, it is a study in the true master using his magic to create a space to exist in.
You can almost see the bubble around Jorma. As painful to watch is Danko, who eventually actually try's tapping the Moracca against his head, before appearing lost and finally turning to Jorma, for salvation.
my time in live music is in the negative amount, by comparison, to some here, but not completely without some merit, and this was a very small bar that was 20 min from Bearsville.
As a study of band dynamics alone, there is so much going on.
