Bob,
I know man,
That was when climbing saved lives.
Kept us all away from poisons, gave us something of our own to work for.
I was small and a kid but y'all took me with you. and sent me off on this amazing journey.
I hate the political threads and this one caught me by the throat.
I had stated a rant then I read it and saved it to see if I could resolve my own personal conflicts, when the women hating (Planed Parent Hood is about Women's health)started on the
"Mighty Hunter" thread I was gonna say some thing and then, well you fell from your pedastal.
Live and let post.
The country we knew died in the bushes, glad that you stayed straight and true to your persona,
I have tried to climb routes that you put up, all over colo.
spent a lot of time at Penitente, & Rock garden in the San Luis Valley.
Alf, (remember him? Of course ) he was running around, his girl was a bit more modest but both were near naked it was all fresh fun and paradise. and thank you!
thats called a butt kissB^P
Edit
Yeah! The prodigal photographer returns!
Just ducky you say, hay glad to hear it . . . and to see you here!

Hi Gypsy!
Glad to know you are just ducky. :) Cute duckling. I saw young killdeer and avocets a few days ago. There were no talented photographers in sight, though.
I am hoping there is a place to buy your print of your photo of the Alps when you were flying to NIce. The one Mouse posted. Do you have your photography for sale anywhere on the internet?
I hope you are having a good summer, enjoying each day and doing things you love to do.
Best to you!

We have contact!
feralfae, your email's still not up and running--I've sent several trial balloons, too.
You may have to check out Facebook messaging to discuss this deal, but that still may not work, though it's worth a try.
Good luck. My work here is done.

According to our wizard,
"Well, it takes a little while the first time somebody sends you something, and their mail server needs to retry to get through at all, which real mail servers will. Maybe that forum’s mail server doesn’t retry, but just sends once. Have you EVER received an email from that forum?"
and no, I have never received an email from here.
But other emails have come through even as I am typing this. so, I will PM my true email to you, Gypsy.
I think our DDoS issues are solved, but this emails from forum, through PM, may not work for me. I am working on it, and thank you Mouse of the help.

Guns are kind of a big topic these days, but they were still around in the old days. Had one pulled on us one night right here at Keith's. Weird thing that Gypsy was around earlier in the day. Copy right?
Hi Gypsy. How do you do that?
I long for one of those friedchickenfountainsandwiches, wouldn't anyone?

If this were REAL BROMANCE, one might expect one of those 4-wires in the mail at no charge.
There are no fairy godfathers, though.
I found another branch of the NY Public Library here. Who would have thought?

From your friendly neighborhood reporter, today as we traversed the route 7 corridor, home to my best climbing area, that we pass doing 75 to 80 mile per hour with the rest of the entitled slobs going full speed into a well known speed trap, we encountered a family aof turkey. 5 balls of fluff and a skinny hen, all ready to try and cross the street. now a highway.
As a way to set this scene , I must tell you that, two days ago we drove past loose dog a Pomeranian or shitsuoe mix , very cocker Spaniel like.
As we went past, I says to the wife - we should stop and save that dog. I stopped in the middle of the road but the wife had taken off her shoes for the ride. She was putting tootsies into canvas, and a car going the other way in which the chick driving was texting, hit that little dog sending it rolling into the gutter. We were right there. The owner of the dog lived there too
the dog seems ok but . . .. it was a mix of truly stupid and the dangerous - A have no care for your dog thing.
the point is for the brood of Turkey I jumped out and tried to stop traffic. On the whole a bad idea.
An over make-uped mother with a teenager in the BMW suv passenger seat, was going to zip around me and kill the hen and two slow poke chicks.
Not on my watch NO!! NO! shouted and I am very loud when need be, and need be-ded. The women glared at me and tried to proceed so I planted myself squre in her path, coulda ' been a hospitalized Gnome or worse.the opening that you can sort of make out is up there , this is the shot as you step into the maw of the slot/cave a vertical passageway that is a climbers dream.
Or nightmare, not a place to be in, during a fracking induced earth rumble.
split screen time:
:Hey Big cheese M Vitaliy?
um now , the only thing left to do, is ask your permission to leave the Angel's Wings TR up over on The Flames.
Had you seen that?
I loved that TR (as I have hinted, all of the previous ones too)
I do not sleep well so I had saved it. To re-read as I do, to eventually, as the sun rises, fall back asleep and dream of the fabulous, wild places that you have filled my head with.
yeah I know a big butt kiss ( I don't do Ball cupping - have you heard?)
thats a Joke .
any way go over to flames and see if I got the pics on the TR in the right order?
It took some time and was fun. I will never make it back in there - and It was fun to gruelingly, with 'Macro viewing Visor' on, try to recreate you work, which by the way burned it into my frontal lobe {singular)
a 20 mile hike-in with full Kit! - ah to have ankles that would do that! and climb and still carry me out. was into bouldering before pads or spotters, and hit the dirt hard from high up over and over again. in fact my parents told stories of how they or my mom would encourage me to jump off things, starting when I was 3.
Then In high school I soloed up corners stemming over to try and climb in widows I went for that plunge to a few times - 30 feet or something. So my ankles at 50 are toast.

Topanga Canyon
John Phillips
Sometimes I drive out to Topanga
And I park my car in the sand
Watching and waiting for a pickup
From my man
And maybe down to Farmer's Market
Those people, they're working in the sun
Buy and sell it for a profit
To anyone
Oh Mary, I'm in the deep waters
And it's way, way over my head
Everyone thought I was smarter
Than to be this dead
You've heard of trainwrecks in the mountains
Sometimes there's shipwrecks on the sea
Mary, you must always be careful
Can't you see?
Oh Mary, I'm in the deep waters
And it's way over my head
Everyone thought I was smarter
Than to be this dead
Someone's sick in San Fransisco
Some are down in New Orleans
Others are kept in Camarillo
Picking beans
Oh Mary, I'm in deep waters
And it's way over my head
Everyone thought I was smarter
Than to be misled

Patiently you waited for so long
Stood beside me knowing I was wrong
Through all my confusion
You could hear the perfect song
'I still love you after all these years'

Let me be the first to say, that I don't believe I have ever heard those John Phillips tunes. That riff sounds suspiciously like Puff the Magic Dragon.
Speaking of Mary, though. I have heard this one many times.

I think the portrayed relationship of Wilberforce to John Newton, an ex slave ship captain,
is one of the most moving I have seen in a movie.
--Albert Finney
Right up there with, maybe better than, Amistad, I "believe."

Yes, theirs was a stunning relationship. Newton had been his teacher/preacher when Wilberforce was a boy, IIRC.
But the relationship Wilberforce had with his wife, who told him, "If you have a bad taste in your mouth, you don't swallow it, you spit it out!" concerning repeated defeats of his bills, and her statement "After night comes day." were both indicative of the formidable role she played in his returning resolve to continue his work to end slavery.
All in all, it was one of the most inspiring films I have seen in a long time. I recently watched "The Way" again, and found it refreshingly honest in dealing with the issue of death and reconciliation to life.
But I cannot watch "Amazing Grace" without crying when Fox speaks of great men, near the end of the film. :)
I am delighted at the wonderful films that are out there these days.

My dear Mrs. J.,
I, too, share your delight.
I recommend the Nick Nolte(!) film Jefferson in Paris for excellence in terms of portraying his intricate relationships and his persuasive manner in dealing with virtually everyone, including his clutch of children born on the other side of the blanket. (Where did that term originate?, I am wondering.)
But more so for the wonderful soundtrack, full of period pieces.
A good understanding of French is not necessary to view this film, it is made so masterfully, but of course that would enhance one's viewing pleasure.
We 'murcans owe the French much in terms of culture, in the arts, in science, and in language.
Also, these modern cinematic gems are worth ten times their weight in textbooks for certain youths who cannot be bothered to read their lessons because some scenes will stick in their minds; and who knows what the result could be?
Unfortunately, textbooks written by the faculty are such an important source of revenue for both the institutions and the professors that this is unrealistic and would be condemned out of hand as "too much Hollywood," a pejorative in the minds of those whose bank accounts would suffer, though they profess liberality otherwise.
Hollywood, Russia, Britain...it matters not who produced these great films, as long as the facts are relevant and true.
"Our taxes should not be used to further these notions," I can hear the text authors saying in protest.
In the spirit of your late life-partner,
I am your servant,
MFM

Well ff, on further reflection I think it was the fatal Pharoah who said that. Way too inelegant for you to have said or thought.
I was wondering about that electric branding business. Is it battery operated? I could not for the life of me find the outlet.
