Yes, like Santa (and senior Montoya), Donny too is simply a mythical entity. He is simply the stereotype of the teen gym/sport climber. The name will no doubt continue to appear, but by no means through me.

I believe Largo wrote an article about Donny in which he posited that Donny is actually Chongo, A mythical yosemite legend. this Is true.
