Also, thank you to everyone who has voiced their support, we really appreciate it.
The memorial was very moving and a fitting tribute to JB.
John was the real Astroman and he will continue to guide us.

What a tribute to John. So many left their work and lives behind and came to both celebrate his life and grieve the loss of this Friend and Climbing Icon.

The man in the brown shirt is Guyzo, a Stoney Point local that use to climb with John Bachar when he was still at UCLA. Actually he was also the first guy to get him stoned... John was shocked that I knew him... Guyzo also use to pick up Lynn Hill to go climbing when she first started. He is full of history, including history that is still in the making...

So many gathered to not only celebrate John's life but to try and deal with the emotions of his passing through. God it is hard. How could one craZy, silly, intelligent, Dreamer of the Impossible, great athlete, lover of his family and a stalwart friend leave us....me still be asking god ....what up, Dude ?
I'm almost certain Peter told a really funny John story. He said John would kill him if he heard him tell it. It was Hilarious, but I was so overwhelmed with the day I can't remember even the main theme .... anyone ....could you jess remind me what it was about ????

Thanks so very much for the wonderful words and photos. So sorry I could not be there for John's send off and to see so many good friends; the atmosphere of the gathering is palpable from the posts. Condolences to John's family and my best to the rest of you.
