""After TGT made his post above, the sound of crickets was deafening.
Clearly the libs had no snappy comeback for that. Does the truth hurt?
"

Could it be that the vastly oversimplified statement wasn't worth responding to?"

That's a good one. Not hardly. K-Rove, you give yourself far too much credit.

LEB,

Tell me why nobody in this country has a problem with socialism for the rich. It is only when socialism starts to work its way down the social scale that everyone gets up in arms about it.

Lois, Gary suffers from class envy, which is the cornerstone of socialism. Anytime someone has more money than some liberal thinks they should have, the liberals do what they can to take it away. Too bad they don't criticize their own. I can think of a certain drunk senator from MA who inherited all his money and has been slurping at the public trough for most of his adult life. I can also think of another senator from MA who married a rich bitch and even bragged about it in a presidential debate.

Moron, you just reminded me of something.

The other night I was up at Onion Valley and I had to take a leak. I was using the pit toilet and my headlamp happened to point down into the dreck below. Much to my disgust I realized that there were dozens of mice feeding on the sh#t. Similarly, you scurry around here at night feeding on the sh#t. You must really like to get "pissed on".

rokjox, after reading your list above, I do believe I have made a terrible career mistake. I am now inspired to go back to school, earn my Masters, quit making stupid movies, and become an executive. Those guys have it made! Screw this actual work(if you call eating and making worthless movies work), I am going to be an executive.

First I'd rename the political philosophy something other than liberal. None of the clasical liberal philosophers and political theorists that were instrumental in the founding of western democaracies fit into the modern liberal (leftist) mold.

Modern Leftist ideology is more properly termed a religion. It's somewhat ironic that the most anti-religious in a conventional sense blindly continue to take on faith assumtions and theories that have been discredited over and over again in the parade of history.

Faith in the state and big government solutions.

An almost pathological belief that there is no such thing as evil unless it eminates from your own society.

A belief that license and freedom are equivilent.

The results are of no consequence, only the motives.

Leftist ideology is a primitive religion in the same category as the Shaman that believes that spirits in the trees control his life. It runs counter to the laws of nature and the nature of man. That's why it always fails, and when taken to its extremes, fails spectacularly, with body counts in the millions and generations of suffering.

Wow. TGT really put it eloquently, and with much insightfulness and clarity!

I didn't start this thread to sit back and gleefully watch as 269 posts accumulated.
(which would have easily set a new milestone for the most successful ST "troll" ever)
No, I can't claim that prize because that wasn't my intent. However, I should have
made the distinction between _classical_ liberalism and the frightful leftists of today,
the anti-american radicals hell-bent on having a revolution where communism once again
rears its ugly head. Give it up. It hasn't worked yet without millions being oppressed or murdered.
What makes you think this time will be any different?
Get a clue. Wake up. And maybe get a job while you're at it.

Lois, the liberals ALWAYS get testy and rude when they know they are being beat at the intellectual game. Shouldn't come as any surprise for you.:)

Like many others have said on this forum, liberals preach tolerance and acceptance---as long as the views are the same as theirs.

Rokjox is just another, angry liberal feeling guilty about his standard of living here but without the balls to go live in poverty somewhere ina Third World country.

Kind of like the people with "Free Tibet" stickers on their cars. Wow, that'll really help.

Lois, no need to feel wounded by a liberal crybaby. They are not important in the grand scheme of things. They like to think of themeselves as important but until they actually win something they are basically no more than big bags of hot air blowing smoke out of their ouch!

Sounds like michael moron and his "conservative" friends are getting a little weepy themselves. Keep up the good work Ouch and Rokjox! You are a true patriot to question your faulty and self serving government. Bush still knows that more than one half of all Americans HATE him yet love America. What's funny is that he doesn't care as long as abortion ends, war thrives and HIS GOD talks to him personally. I hope history judges him well...
My father-in-law (a former pilot) once told me that he hates flying when someone else is the pilot. That's probably the same sentiment felt by GHW Bush 41 in regards to this country's leadership. 41 (a former pilot himself) is the same type of control freak. After F---ing up the first Iraq war and getting ousted, He could hardly stand the thought of losing control let alone the presidency, so he had no choice but to force his hand and overthrow the emerging liberalism of the Gen Xers. By stealing the 2000 unelection he thrust his spoonfed, spoiled brat son into power(thanks to the help of his other TALKING TO GOD son, Jeb) thereby coming as close as possible to regaining his lost control. Besides ,how could such a spoiled family ever empathize with anyone not in their top 1%. The only time you ever hear a Bush empathize with anyone is with the families of victims of 9/11. Simply a thank you for this event allowing a shameless administration to push its un-apologetic agendas, lining the pockets of all their oil-baron, energy thieving buddies. Look no further than Hitler himself for another example of such unabashed "conervatism". Modern "conservatism is no more than CONTROL. Nothing worse for a CIA director than to lose control. When 41 lost America's trust,he lost control. Let the fools who blindly love this country be the first to die for it, my own blindness was cured in Iraq in 1991... Let's send LEB Michael Moron and Howeird together to Baghdad as MP's and let them return to answer my one and only question. Is the world more stable now than before the Iraq war II? F no. That the world is under more control is only an illusion to the fools who have never served(i.e. LEB,MM,HWD)

It's not about control.

It's about freedom and the ability to live out from under the boot of tyrants.

Is this due entirely to altruisim?

Definitely not!

But, the more free democracies and free markets predominate, the safer and more prosperous we will all be.

Keep living in the fog of your leftist religious beliefs. The solace you find there is only a chimera.

Long ago in this thread, Red states vs. Blue states (and counties).

Here are some more realistic maps:

http://www-personal.umich.edu/~mejn/election/

Let's hear it for the folks who think that being lied to by the Gov't is OK (Bolton, "hey, I forgot I was asked a few questions by some nobody, thanks for reminding me...").

Republican Spin on the Downing Street Memo: "Hey, that's old news." Yes, it is old news that the President decided to go to war with IRAQ in 2002, it's just the proof that we lacked.

Yeah, liberals are cowards and want to ruin this country. Meanwhile, our debt grows, the war bankrupts us, and we have blind people backing the greatest rip-off in history (who do you think the US is in debt to?).

I think Bush is way run on some smear-fest, and there ain't no screamer on that 1/4" rusty.

And still, the endless deluge of ignorant right-wing bullshit from JodyHowie and TGT continues. Their unapologetic defense of greed, warmongering and environmental rape is astounding. I really wonder, why do they hate America?

Still not sure who jodyhowie is but whatever. We have already debated ad naseum the warmongering part and are at an impasse in the negotiations on that subject. Howieever, where do you get off on the greed and environmental rape accusations?
