It's funny all the hyperbole about marxism, when the most radical tax idea is to restore tax rates on the rich to what they were circa 2001.
And Universal health care? Sh#t even businesses are on board with that one: they're sick of the ridiculous costs.
You guys are so out of touch. All you can do is scream the "marxism" bogeyman while appealing to the angry white male constituency.
It's too bad, because we need a credible 2d party to keep the Dems in check.

"What scares people like me is that all of our Socialist, neo-Marxist statements, seem to be coming true."
Blue, that may be your (and many GOP'ers) greatest fear, but Obama's policies are a far, far cry from true Socialism or Marxism, let alone the entire country falling wholly and completely under those ideologies.
Not trying to push buttons, but the 'Socialism/Marxism' fears are being fueled by a portion of the media that has a strong political agenda.

Actually, bluering, my point is that the Republican Party is f*#ked, and will not have much power in US government for a long while. But since you bring it up, I'd say individual rights as guaranteed by the Constitution are one of the best things about this country. Social liberals (was that your word?) have this in mind, social conservatives, the opposite. So yeah, I guess you could say social liberals are cool. Social conservatives are not Nazi's (that would be an irrational statement, more your style), but are often hateful, and bigoted, and confused by religious demagoguery. Isn't it ironic that the people that worship the cross are very often not Christ-like?

We went over this in another thread. You;re wrong!
People like you are the problem. Do you have any attachment to religion?
You attack religion in your angst, and attack its principles.
F*#k y'all, I'll say it cause Jesus never would....call me his spokesman a spokesperson, spokespeople....spokesMAN.
Keep up the 'right' verbage and be politically correct...the ACLU may call you if you don't obey!!!!

In the context of my admittedly limited knowledge of political history, I believe the Nazis were a fascist, and therefore leftist, political movement. Feel free to take me to task on this one as necessary, though- I'd be happy to learn something.
Regarding the future of the GOP, as demonstrated by the headlining speakers at the recent CPAC conference, I'd say that the GOP has a LOT of work to do to re-create itself- these people are nothing more than yesterday's rotting GOP trash:
http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=219518&title=cpac-after-party
I would be particularly interested in seeing the GOP re-create itself under true Conservative values, as defined by Buckley, Goldwater, and even Reagan. If they could separate themselves from the Religious Right and all of their cultural agendas, and come forth with an intelligent, articulate leader, I'd be especially intrigued. For now, though, there is no-one on the horizon like that- not Jindal (aka Kenneth the Page), not Limbaugh (who is a big fat idiot with currently has his foot so far down his gullet that it is hanging out his *ss), or Coulter (who is a psycho tranny).
Hey- my wife just got home. I'm outta here- she is a whole lot cuter that any of you hairy ball sacks (nothing personal).

'Attachment to any type of religion'? Thankfully, no. When people tell me what God thinks, I don't listen to them. I'd rather listen to what my friends and family think, or think for myself.
And religion is fair game when it comes to 'conservatives' or Republicans. These people bow their little heads when they're in the clubhouse, but when they're out on the streets, it's time to start pointing fingers and grabbing pitchforks. I don't like hypocrisy.

If the Republicans are going to continue to ride Evangelicals, you should expect some push back. People can worship as they please, but when politicians and religous peoples start talking about taking away the rights of others in the name of religion, it is fair game in the arena of political discourse to poing out the inherent hypocrisy of their 'religion'.

bluering, oh good. I was worried you were trying to save me. You make me laugh bluering, seriously.
I took a moment to look at your links on e-verify that you keep mentioning. Interesting issue really. We're screwed on immigration enforcement, and it would be nice to alleviate some of the burden on border patrol, but it does worry me that this e-verify technology gets it wrong 5 percent of the time, especially with foreign-born citizens. Is now the right time to try and work the bugs out of a system like that? Maybe. Sure would be sucky to not land a job because we needed version 2.0 on this thing. Tough one. I can see both sides have a good point.
Maybe it should have its own bill.

Nazis were a right wing cult based on nationalism, empiricism, authoritarianism, racism, bigotry, and basic religious fervor for Hitler as savior.
So now we have George Soros, (an ex Nazi sympathizer) and the rest of you rooting for the nationalisim of protectionist policies, empericisim of a political buearacratic class, authoritarianism of the state, class bigotry and Obama as savior.

You continue to display your ignorance. The Nasties were a leftist Socialist group....moron.
In fact the parallels are common to Obama. The Nazi (National Socialist Party) gained popularity from a depressed Weimar republic...kinda like the recession we have now. They put all their faith into a well-speaking leader who had other, more sinister ideas. Once he gained popularity, the people who put him into power could no longer control him.
He was free to do as he pleased. Sound familiar?
Those who fail to remember their history are condemned to repeat it.
Thanks for voting for this guy.

As to whether Fascism or Nazis are left or right, it appears we are all wrong, according to wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism_and_ideology
It doesn't sound like naziism falls neatly into either category, and holds some of the extreme properties of both ideologies.
And Bluering, you don't honestly believe that Obama has nazi or fascist tendencies, do you?
Do you?
