*UPDATE*

I've had a few short (still incoherent) phone conversations with Curt. He's still heavily sedated.

Mom says that he's in a lot of pain. There's lots of tubes, and the healing will be really slow. The latest scan shows a possible infection, so they are putting him on antibiotics and keeping him at the hospital for at least 10 more days. If he pulls through, he should have a lot less daily pain and his life has definitley been extended since so much tumor was able to be removed.

Hey guys, I guess it's my time to update.... just got this from the SCC board via one of the board members:

--------------------------snipit-----------------

i just talked to OC. He is in a lot of pain and sounded like he was doped up (no surprise).

he said he has another month to go to get out of the woods.

i let him know that we are all pulling for him to get well and get back out to the crags. I told him that I know it is a small issue right now - but his message board privileges were restored - and he said that it did mean alot and he would be back soon.

he is listed as James C. Johnson Jr. in room #470 if anyone wants to send a card or wish him well.

D.

EDIT: Not sure where this hospital is at, but somewhere in northern GA. This is the post from RRK on the SCC site:

--He's in Brookwood and I think he likes that really really old scotch (come to think of it I like it too.)

All I get for Brockwood is something in new South Wales. Can you get a better location?

An address would be just peachy.

Single malt.

Dirt is a trash picker from way back. He has earned the best there is.

There's a Brookwood Medical Centre in Birmingham, Alabama. That's not in Georgia, but is in Curt's home state: http://www.bwmc.com/CWSContent/brookwood-medical

It doesn't appear that you can look on their website and find out who the current patients are.

I googled "Brookwood hospital Georgia" and "Brookwood medical center Georgia", and that's the most promising hit.

I must be getting old, Where did I get Brock?

RRK/JTM:
We are going to need an address for his family to send the single malt. No way they want him drinking it right now. Once he knows he has single malt waiting he will heal completely in a matter of hours.

Send the address to Curt Shannon on ST. My email is still down.

Jstan i live in N GA. There is a brookwood facility on Piedmont. I don't know why the mailing address is in Birmingham though. I can call in the morning to see if it is the correct one. If it is you can go to http://www.bwmc.com/CWS/apps/CheerCards/default.aspx?hostname=brookwood-medical&language=en-US

and have them bring him a card from you. I gave it a shot just in case.

That is pretty funny. I bet Dirt specifically requested that room number. Can you do that in hospitals?

I probably should have named that TR "Dirt's Big Adventure" Definitely the most action he's seen in a few years. Thanks for linking it.

P.S. RRK is the one in the chair. ;)
