werner -- "bvb" does not actually exist; he is a figment of the inTARDnet's demented cyber-imagination, along with a lot of photoshop work by his sick climber buddies who seek to tarnish his sterling reputation.

but if he DID exist, i suspect he'd be a "management assistant", the best job in the nps -- report directly to the sup, make insane money, extremely nebulous job description, free to roam the parks while coasting into retirement.....

curt: admit it, you're jealous. plus, your wife thinks i'm hot. and i know about you and joc. saw the video. yer a dead man.

Why is this man so happy, and more importantly, what's that between his fingers?

Of course, I'm sure some of you are more interested in the background details...

jesus doug, where are you getting these pics?

anybody else ever seen a photo that is so evocative of the moment, of their youth, that you wanted to burst out of your chest with joy?

this one does it for me....talk about the spirit of the age! best photo EVAR!!!!

gonna photoshop it and print it right now. today is great, the 80's were mighty fine, the 90's were the sh#t, but the '70's, in the time of the scumbags, were the days when we set the table for everything that was to come.

for serious man, i love you guys. *sniff*

No doubt, nice shots Doug.
Now they're in my hard drive, my photo bucket, and anywhere else I see fit, almost anytime.

Whut a stinker huh?

No sweat Tarbousier, all I ask is for a little attribution now and then.

Stich - the full frame in this case is the cheesy cardboard slide mount, this one was a direct positive black and white slide, I loved that stuff.

Heh, I'm partway though my darkroom construction project too, assisted by daughter Nora who has become smitten with the medium.

Thanks for the slack Off White,
You're a gracious fella and you've trapped (snapped) many priceless historical images.

Yes stich, there was a whole segment of the black and white photo world that always printed full frame that way, show the edges both to frame the shot and as an expression of honesty: here's everything that I saw, no cropping trickery. I love that look. Sort of like ground up un-inspected first ascents of the photography game.

For some reason, scanning color slides in white plastic slidemounts, the edges all turn this fresh carhart brown, not the same effect at all.

My favorite BVB & Watusi photo so far:

photo credit: ummmm, might be Off White, I mean he's not in the pic-chure,
but like I don't remember quite where I got it (stole) so I can't say for totally for sure.
But it's a good bet.
