You feel like a man; am I right MB? That's your reality.
If you felt like a woman, that would be your reality. Some people feel like both. Some feel like neither.
Why does that matter to you?

Mrs. Mad Bolter Girl is such a whiny little girl. She loves to hear herself talk and yet clearly hates herself. What an ugly little it she is. It thinks itself special but it clearly isn't anything but immature and trollish

You're so easy to pick out from a crowd. Why not try harder at your game and post something truly interesting ?

After all, the only true crime is to bore all of the others who get it.

So far, you're 0/nothing

HOHMANN great stuff JB. Don’t stop now, keep back editing and adding more lines because you’re nailing it so well.

LOL

Are you that thick, you think I’m trying to hide with the name Gnaw Mean?

Don’t answer that question.

So if a person who you believe to be a woman requests you call them "he" or bob, you consider that hostile?

It's not a "request" if it's actually demanded on pain of firing!

How would you respond to such a scenario if presented with it?

You should know better than to ask a question like that in a public forum. ANY substantive answer would be absolutely foolish, and you should know that.

Being mean to coworkers in general will get anyone fired.

And, yet again, the presumption is that refusal to join delusion is "mean." There are MANY ways to handle such workplace conflicts without "meanness," and conflict-resolution is always the first desire and professional goal.

Moreover, your opinion of what would make a lawsuit and what wouldn't is based on utter ignorance. Have you ever paid a business-law attorney to discuss such issues? I have.

Well, how about we call you dickhead, instead, since that's seem to be your nature?

Do whatever you feel. You have no emotional effect on me when you respond to my careful and systematic posts by responding that way.

Moreover, such a pronoun has no biological anchor, so it's a bad analogy. But, you know, whatever turns your crank. I couldn't care less, since I don't find it offensive or off-putting when people I neither know nor care about their opinion of me state their opinion.

Knock yourself out!

But I have yet to hear anybody produce actual arguments. Just piles of personal attacks. A very informative "discussion," really.

MadBolter1, you are preaching freedom, but forgeting about tolerance.

Uh, NO! If you equate "tolerance" with joining mentally ill people in their delusion, then you are making the word into something that utterly disallows distinctions regarding reality!

I can be completely tolerant and non-judgmental in a moralistic sense, and at the same time say, "I appreciate you as a person very much, and I value your contributions. The one line I draw in my dealings with you is that my gender pronouns will be anchored in biological reality. If that fact makes you part ways with me, I am truly sorry, because I think that you are a wonderful person! But that will be your choice."

Or something like that.

You all treat refusal to join delusion as a "zero-sum game" in which a person either jumps full-blown into the delusion or they are "filled with hate" or at least "a real meanie." That's just ridiculous and amazingly shallow thinking! There is a HUGE spectrum of respectful and decent responses that still do not validate the delusion via specific verbiage!

The INTOLERANT person is the one who makes delusional pronoun-usage a condition of relationship. And I would not say that even they are "mean" or "filled with hate." They simply won't tolerate any relationship that won't validate their delusion. But that is THEIR choice.

I would surmise that your only point
is to show your true nature.

Good or bad, It's quite apparent to most.
Thanks for that.

And yes, one should care.
Why else respond?

Madbolter, you ignored my last question so I'll try again. How do you explain intersex people? Are they "delusional as well?"

Here is the link to a thought provoking documentary I watched as a teenager:

I'm not sure why you would write that. Could you explain WHY it would be foolish to answer that?

If it's because you feel it might be able to be used against you in a court of law should something pertaining to it be brought forth, I think you've already done the damage, by repeatedly insisting transgender folks are delusional and mentally ill. Nawmean?

You really are a tenacious one, though, I'll give you that. But it's kind of sad. Maybe some day you will have a chance to interact with a person who isn't cisgender, and gain some real world experience to balance your imaginary one with.

The INTOLERANT person is the one who makes delusional pronoun-usage a condition of relationship.

Congratulations....you just described entire concept of life in society.
Do you ever say "How're you?" (while you don't really care) to a business contact, client or a coworker/manager? I bet you do. Because if you don't greet clients, potential business prospects, etc - they won't deal with you. It doesn't mean you really give a damn about how they're doing. Do you ever say "sorry" when you accidentally bump into someone? - even though you shouldn't be "sorry" as it was accidental. There're conventions in society and they happen to change and evolve over time.

I have.

Oh yeah, I have some experience. You paid business law attorney to discuss these particular issues (when protected class who can claim hostile work environment /discrimination is involved)- or just an issue of firing undesirable employee? Do you even realize how much this litigation (and EEOC monetary award!) can cost? You have no idea, clearly (unless you're a multi-millionaire and got money to burn/dk). Whatever attorney tells that you can do what you want to do in such situation should be disbarred. Good luck with real expenses. Don't forget they can come at you with a top notch lawyer in a case like that while not paying a dime. Not to mention potential headlines (nationwide) and negative publicity for the business. I assume you're a business owner... from common sense standpoint - business exists in society which is a stakeholder in it...when society changes, business has to follow.

I am immediately suspicious of anyone who is so locked down on their own perspective of *whatever* that they can only defend it without an inkling of acceptance of other perspectives.

Richard is that kind of person.

Carry on.
