John Gill -
That is the same Steve Moyles. He worked until recently at Driscoll's.
I had to make a run up to Seattle, but my son John visited Steve today. He reported that there were people there when he arrived, people showed up while he was there and people were showing up as he left. He thinks they may have to set up an appointment system...
Steve feels like he in in good hands. Had a full evaluation yesterday that left him a bit worn out and serious rehab activities were to start today. I asked it the people seemed good and interested in his case and he said "yes".

Wonderful photo, Mike and thanks.
Stevie is a remarkable higher level climber with nearly fifty years of experience. I have known him since his beginner year at Indian Rock.
He has been a lab technician down in Watsonville for decades, working often with fellow climber, Fred Cook who is at Driscoll's, all down there in the berry capital. Both of them involved in that huge industry there and elsewhere.
Amy is a dear and devoted flamenco dancer, formerly married to Mike Loughman, an early sixties climber from southern California and then Berkeley. No one knows where he might be today.
When I was living in El Cerrito next to Berkeley back some years ago, Steve and I would get together sometimes over the great and revered Cheeseboard delicacies he would snag on his way over from his Oakland appointments. He spent a great deal of time getting really good at wide cracks, and even constructed a plywood one in his backyard, as mentioned upthread. He and Amy lived in Jackson Hole for awhile too and are fondly remembered by many climbers remaining there.

A few observations/musings from our visit yesterday...
Steve looks nothing like the photo above - thank goodness. He's up and about with no tubes or ass-revealing gowns. Whew!
We sat in the sunny patio near a cage with gobs of sweet love birds - it's a nice respite for such a facility.
On my way home I realized that the generous nature of a human being such as Steve is to typically shine the spotlight on the person he's engaging with. That's one of his special and striking qualities - he makes you feel like you're the only one that matters in the moment. And I believe that's true for him. Generous and kind.
So now that we've all got him in the high-beams, it's a bit foreign in an already foreign environ.
Deal widdit, Steve! You're worthy of the love and attention coming your way. And then some. ;)
See you Wednesday. xoxo

Even though that picture was in hospital garb, it brightened my day (as you can see, I've been away from ST for a bit). I, too, knew Steve (and Fred) from their early days at Indian Rock. Much to my amazement, Steve recognized me 40 years later at Face Lift, even though I was hiding under a grey beard, about 40 extra pounds and (of all things) a golfing hat.
I keep you in my prayers and thoughts, my friend.
John
