Just another day in starch land... Off to do the usual with the dog; 6 miles of trail. Weighed in at 184 today.

Show us your moobs! :) Er.. maybe not
I'm paying attention to portion control too. I can usually feel full on half of a normal American portion if I don't keep munching away. Snacks are tough. Still figuring that out. Usually I just make a big cup of tea if I'm feeling snack-y.
The boy is out of town which actually makes it easier in some ways.. I hate cooking so I just make a lot of salads with some turkey or ham. I've mostly given up red meat because my stomach just doesn't seem to be able to digest it well.
The calf is finally feeling better so I'll be able to up my activity level. Probably get back on the rock next week.

Shoulder is a bit f%×ed up from swimming, and I baked a loaf of banana bread today - neither of which are constructive for this particular challenge. Will pound out some milea tomorrow morning to make up for my transgressions.
Keep the faith!

Unmoved at 198. Actually, I am motivated(moved) and interested at what you guys do to lose the pounds. Too much physical work the last couple weeks. Have cut the snacks back and chomped a few more veggies.
When is the challenge end date?

My plan to shed the pounds by throwing down a hunnert (okay, or maybe 6) toprope laps today has been defeated the sick child on my couch. Back to the stationary exercise machine.

Started the trail jog with my 9 year old beast belly on the ground gacking; twice. So much for 6 miles I thought. But she bounced back quick and was tearing it up soon after. So we went for 8.
Anybody here regularly eat barley? I'm going to give it a shot starting next week.

I been trying to replace real meals with those that are low in calories but filling. For example my pack of oatmeal is VERY diluted with water and is not solid in consistency. Add a bit of cinnamon for flavor, mix a bit of milk in there. By the time I am done with fluid, I get to the solid stuff on the bottom. That with some sort of a protein followed by a cup of coffee fills me up till sometime afternoon. Adding more veggies and salady foods. Drinking more liquid. Chewing gum instead of going for a snack. Feel better today than earlier in the week. Not sure if it is because I am more over the flu or because my body is more used to the caloric deficit. Weight in today at 172 which is really good compared to 178.9 Saturday and 179 on Sunday. Getting under 167 or maybe even 166 by the end of the next week would rock. But likely not happen as I am sure a lot of my weight loss so far was due to my body holding on to less water.

I am down from 204 to 197 in one week.
Minimize intake (less than 1000 calories per day) and maximize activity (running, lifting and climbing every day) to keep the metabolism going. Fighting through the lethargy is tough but it is penance for gluttony.
Once the weather dries up, I will increase calories to less than 2000 per day and offset that by more running.

Fell off the fitness train last night, but so worth it.
My daughter is graduating, got a job last week, and arrived with 4 of her awesome friends on spring break. They were in San Fran yesterday and bought me cheese as a present. Got the pasta water boiling, threw some onions and olive oil in a pan, sat back and watched the show. Great people, great feast, wouldn't trade it for the world.
Which brings me to why this thread is so great. I don't need to know what to do - I pretty much get how you lose weight. What I don't get is how you lose the bad attitude, the giving in to temptation, blowing off the goals just for today. It's hard to stay on track, especially when (as with last night) blowing things off is a good thing when viewed from a different perspective.
Anyway I feel like part of the answer is right here in this thread, with the encouragement and what-not. All your posts get me stokaged! I'm back on track, just watch the pounds melt away now!

goddamit Moose.....stop that loser sh#t. Oh weight, this is the loser thread.
I flatlined today. Weather pretty sucky so it looks like primarily indoor stuff...not my fav.
I usually don't mind outdoor inclement weather unless its really windy (which it is) because I have this long time phobia of being hit by a branch. Probably because it happened to me as a child....it was small but it stunned me pretty badly so I'm still stuck with the phobia.

We did a 14 mile cruiser ride last night - Thursday Night Cruiser Ride. I pulled my sushi trailer. Now granted I have an electric assist on my bike but I still got a hell of a work out. I think I ate about 900 calories of food yesterday. Though that was probably about 2000 calories of margarita and whatever else got passed around.

An interesting thread to follow. The biggest loser for the very fit. Lol.
Nature, are you a professional chef, or the sushi fest is a thing on the side, strictly for fun?

it's great when the biggest loser wins. and that's rather generous to term us 'fit'. haha..
i'm somewhere in between. I ran Sushi by Nature as a catering and sushi party business for a couple years but never really got it very far off the ground. I still do a party or two on occasion. I think I may try to bring my ginger/tataki sauce to market. Otherwise SushiFest is for fun (although technically I count the income/losses on schedule C).

I've been having a rough day, but came home to a great dinner!
nature grilled some marinated tofu that we had with an apple habanero chutney, big salad with perfect avocado, and a raw avocado carrot cumin soup. He's got some sort of weird hippie raw burgers in the dehydrator.
