thedogfather - you are a lucky dog! Where in the midwest are you? Just got a 12.1 mp camera and if you and Jer were amenable, someday I'd like to come shoot that painting and compensate you both somehow for a copy. I wouldn't do anything further and would be happy to destroy any file after the fact, but I would love to get a copy and maybe do a little climbing back down in some hollers somewhere...

Chad, amazing stuff. Wow.

healyje - you should visit jer's web site. He has prints of that painting and really cool reproductions on canvas that I have seen and they are remarkable. Here is another great original I was lucky enough to get. Notice the brain, IT'S A CAMALOT!

My new toy (a kiln) helped in making these goodies...

A personal favorite (the photos do not do these justice):

Dogfather, thanks - missed the 'store' link first time through as I'm on my notebook with a small screen. He's clearly a smart guy to set things up to maximize the return on each piece he does. We're going to get one of the canvas reproductions of your original - I'm still jealous.

Crimp - nice glass work!

So both you guys are in MO...? Are you on opposite sides...?

healyje, jer and I are about 30 minutes drive apart in the Kansas City area. He lives on the Misery side of the state line while I live on the flat Kansas side. btw, I've been to his studio and it is amazing to see his work in progress stuff.

Well, there is a fair possibility I'll be in KC a time or two in the next year as my Albuquerque client just got bought by an outfit in Milwaukee, but is now being managed out of their KC office. Will give a shout if I do...

Ammon, thx for bumping the thread. I was just thinking about it when I came across an old picture of my room from high school. From my art class I painted the below. Can't imagine what I was reading at the time. hrm, let me see, could it be, nah. ;)

sorry, couldn't say what year this was. Maybe 88?

not my art, but found this hanging randomly in an art shop in Arcata or Eureka (posted elsewhere on the taco also, trying to find the artist again).

but i totally dig the simple lines, rope, showing the belaying, partnership, movement.

chad - Simply AMAZING work! I love the detail and feeling in the eyes of your portraits! They look very much like a photo, yet still have a feeling of whimsy to them. Nice!

My friends were redecorating their condo in a Tommy Bahama theme and asked me to paint something on the kitchen wall.
