I was one of the older ones of my generation of then-young Vancouver climbers, but Hamie has me beat by a few months and Dick Culbert by 3 years.

I'm 70, started climbing when I was 16. My real name is Glenn, and I'd swith my ST name to that, except that Tricouni is cool nickname.

a compulsive interest in regularity!

Paul, I've had that compulsive interest since my teenage years (just my own, not that of others). But it made me laugh anyway.

cowpoke, put n = xxx on the graph, so we can see how many people have responded.

Malemute: great minds think alike! As I was making the graph, I had thought of the hair color scheme, but all sorts of "wrinkles" such as what color = bald?

Regarding puttin n in the graphs, I can add later today, but not really needed for the histo's ...you can pretty easily calculate the total in this small sample

wow, seriously, all you dudes and dudettes still crushing well into your 6th (and even 7th) decades are truly inspiring. I've heard that Fritz Weissner was still following 5.9 and leading 5.6 up until he was 80, and I've always aspired to be still climbing when I'm 80.

Donini is a freak of nature!

Just turned 48 last week, and have never felt better. Hell, at 32 I couldn't climb as hard as the 70 year old freak of nature, but I'm pretty happy where I'm at (and can still hold my own on the Brazilian jiu jitsu mat with guys half my age :-) ).

Fair warning for those lurking, post up by tomorrow morning if you want to be included in histogram/correlations...given that age is our variable of interest we need a narrow sampling window...pretty soon, folks' ages start changing (and more importantly, I leave for Norway tomorrow night).

pud, if this is too much just say "stop" ...don't want to hijack the thread with graphs

Not at all Cowpoke. I quite enjoy your work!

By personalizing respective authors here on ST, I believe we change the dynamic. We don't have to give shoe sizes (might be fun?!) but, getting to know our fellow posters on a human scale allows a certain amount of respect and consideration be given.

I admire many here not only for their climbing resume' but for their ability and willingness to share knowledge and experience while asking nothing in return.

OK to add more info:

I started climbing when I was 5 .....

But I learned "the ropes" when I was 20.

Me now, well ... a few years ago.

Patrick, why would you remove your post?...your profession shouldn't matter for anything I graphed...although would be great to have that...this is so fun that it makes me think we should be collecting a variety of demographics

Edit: lots of folks out there who post regularly but aren't participating in this thread = potential response bias :(

Hope they post!

Edit: Patrick, dude, you are confusing me. First you post asking me if you should remove your post "because I am not a medical professional." then, I ask "why would you do that?" after which, you delete the post asking if you should delete and then post saying you have deleted no posts. Whatever you wanna do is fine by me...

Younger 'n Donini!!!

Okay, for Cowpoke's graph: 67 for another month, male, married, climbing--50 years as of April, concussions--2, lost too many memory cells to fill in the rest of the data.
