I'm going with trip wires and punji sticks. Less collateral damage.

i mean, whatever's handy, right? there's that sharp old machete from your trustafari ex's crazy cool mom, the sod spade, the double-headed beaver-pointed birch clobberstick, the pick mattock handle you found in the dumpster, the bear spray, etc. guns are such wonderful and demonstrably omnipermanent penetrating pseudophalli thoughs. I like guns.
I don't go to theaters any more. The back double doors of the 300 seat college lecture halls snapped like mousetraps to my ear...but the dudes packing 50 cal six guns in ice cream halls don't really make me feel much better.
I dunno, sure hate to be outgunned though. Nobody likes a small pecker, pseudo or other.

Short 12 ga. pump or auto. If you're worried about cleaning up afterward, you are worrying about the wrong thing.

If you have a little skill a 9mm Cobra Derringer should suffice and there won’t be any gore on the carpet.

Big D giving firearm advice?
Looks like the devil needs long - johns for Christmas.
Nobody really needs a gun, right? I mean, if I want to hunt pigs with a knife you're all good with that, right? Oh wait, California's specifically banned that too. Something about it being cruel you the animal I think...

Jonnyrig, there is a reason I am offering gun advice. I think that the Derringer pistol can be an answer to the Second Amendment dilemma.
The Second Amendment can be amended to read....” the right to bear Derringer pistols...”
This will have the salubrious benefits of....
No more mass shootings.
Increased tracking and stalking skills for hunters who want to be successful.
More suicides by guns will move to the attempt column.
Major increases in the woodcock, duck and quail populations.
And
Macho hunters seeking apex predator trophies would have the fulfillment (should they survive) of going mano a mano.

The intelligent class does NOT need gun.
The st00pid modern gross materialists always manipulate the gross material energies inefficiently due to their terrible poor fund of knowledge.

The Center for Disease Control has been keeping records on this subject for many decades. And here is what they found:
Let's consider the situation when a home defense weapon is fired.
In ninety percent (90%) of the such cases, when a home defense weapon is fired, an intruder is not involved. Instead, the gun is used by a resident of the home to kill another resident of the home.
Of the 90% of the above cases, almost 100% of these are one of the following:
Husband shooting the wife
Boyfriend shooting his girlfriend
Young male committing suicide
See a pattern here? If there is a male living in the home, then people in the home will be safer if a home defense gun was not present.
I'm just saying.

What about the M79. Accuracy not important in close proximity and boy those it ever deliver an explosive charge. Of course the collateral damage might include your tropical fish aquarium.

Found this on the internet...
The basic truth: a firearm is not protection.
Situational awareness is protection. A Kevlar vest is protection. A firearm is a tool that provides the means to respond, with immediate lethal force, to a perceived attack.
A concealable Kevlar vest costs less then most concealed carry pistols, requires no situational awareness, cannot be used against you by an assailant, never harms bystanders, and is generally legal in all jurisdictions.
A concealed firearm isn’t even a deterrent.
People carry a pistol because it’s convenient, there is a culture supporting that decision, there is advertising urging that decision, and we all, at some level, want to imagine ourselves as a hero.

Has anyone thought of being nice to the intruder...? Maybe that would work better than a lethal weapon...Why all the hate...?

7SacredSophistries, be sure and curl up into the fetal position (after you spend a minute putting on yer vest) and be sure to ask the nice intruder to be sure and shoot you in a place protected by the vest.

If you're worried about getting hurt, hence the gun, why not wear a helmet as well? You're way more likely to need that.

Where did I say it bothered me? You can do what you want, I just think it's stupid. Just like some think not having a gun is stupid.
