Those were some interesting thoughts, Ron. I know just what you mean. I'm a consumate introvert and don't tend to deal with more than a couple people at a time and am generally circumspect around, them! Not into crowds.
But I find these sorts of gatherings (sushifests, wide wednesdays, facelift, skip & Erik's wedding, etc) work for me. They seem, if you will, disarming. There is shared interest and a certain sincerity these events select for... But what do I know?

Ron you're right on the traditional climber of this area, but after this weekend I think we may have to change our perspective.
Many great folks out there that we can enjoy outback experiences with.
Wish I could have hooked up on Sunday but I had other commitments.
Shack Classic photo of the adult theater and the beautiful sunset.

Hi All! We are finally home in Boulder after a *really* fun trip. I was mentioning to Chiloe just last night (after climbing and during dinner) that I was really touched to see so many tacos come out and climb and join us for the happy hour.
Thanks to Silver for setting it up. Thanks to Silver, Nadia and Marlow for letting us crash at their home. We had a fab time.
A special thanks to Shack who covered my dine and dash. :)
And thanks to everyone - hermit and social butterfly - who came out to visit. You were really the highlight of the trip!
We didn't get on all the climbs we would have liked to, but that is life. Some (e.g., Ariel) had an endless TR conga line. Others, we just didn't have time for. We managed to do a fair bit at the Snowshed and some pitches at the Black Wall on day two. Peter Mayfield(aka Maysho) showed up at the Black Wall so it was nice to chat with him even briefly.
I wanted to first post our HH photos. In a bit, I'll get up some of the climbing photos.
I'll shut up now and post photos. Enjoy and thanks again!
Mark Miller at the HH!
Mark Miller indulging in an adult beverage...or two.
Shack, Climbski2 and Kovar at the HH
Crimpergirl and Silver before the Great Ketchup Incident. The bowl of ketchup hit the table, splattered all over me, the camera and BrassNuts hand and in the blink of an eye, Silver caught it before it created more havoc. Sadly, there are not post-ketchup/pre-cleanup photos.
Climbski2 and Kover prepare to wrestle.

Mark Miller and BrassNuts
BrassNuts and Ron Anderson- BN was astounded by how much Ron and Locker could be brothers! I think Ron is a little unsure of what BN is up to here with his gang signs. :)
Jebus (left) joined in for the scrote show festivities. :)
Cragman drove in as well!
We were treated to a beautiful sunset on the deck of the Silver Peak.
Another group shot
More...
It's dark now, but the party rages.
BN and Ron.
I failed to get photos of the people who came later. The guy who wrote the guidebook??? (forgot his name). And his female friend who it turns out was on the same plane as BN and I out of Denver that morning! It was a small plane too. Small world!
More photos of climbing to come...

Great shots!
Kovar is definitely pulling off whatever look he's going for. There are plenty of shops around the Silver Peak brewery to suit his taste. :)
Glad you all had fun, I love watching the sunset from that roof.
Strong work Silver for putting that together.

Indeed Brandon. I wonder if that photo of the sunset is *really* of the sunset or more of the nearby businesses. :)
Climbing photos are still loading. This may take a wee bit of time...
edit: And to the introverts...I understand. Though BN doesn't buy it, I too am an introvert which simply means we recharge through alone time. I need plenty of it. These events can be exhausting, but like a good day climbing, they are worth it. If the crowd is too much, it's always easy to sit in a corner with one or two other folks and focus on that. If people like Locker and Ron and other introverts didn't come out, these gatherings would be poorer.

Alrighty! The photos have uploaded. These are primarily of the climbing. I think that BN will burn the full assortment of photos to a cd and mail it to you Silver. These include my BFF Marlow and me cooking breakfast, feeding the baby and taking care of stuff in her bedroom. :)
We arrived at the Reno airport to a few face cut-outs. Who can resist these?? Clearly not BN. Pretty stinkin' funny!
We grabbed the rental car and headed to Silver's home. We gathered our climbing stuff and headed to Donner. As was posted upthread, we got there as a guy was being hauled out. He'd taken a nasty 30 footer and landed flat on his back. Ow. Happily, though the scene looked grim, he was fine. I was happy there was no blood.
We piddled around on the road waiting for the haul-out to be complete. Didn't want to get in the rescue guys' way. And didn't want to see anything gruesome up close either.
Here is the crew so far waiting to go down.
Silver had a moment. :)
We headed to the left side of the Snowshed initially. I won't remember pretty much any climb we did. We started on some .8 or .9 though. BN retrieved a brand new booty cam from this climb. The trip was off to a great start! It is his 80th bootied cam!
We headed a bit to the right where the crew was. Something was biting.
And BN started climbing everything. Here is a crack. What the heck was this one? Farewell to Arms? Help!
A bevy of tacos!
I dug deep but think I found some crimpers in these cracks.
Hmmm. Think this is Farewell to Arms.
Met local climber Hansie. He warmed up on this and made it look easy. My shoulder still hurts from being shut down on this powerful beast!
Climbski2 between climbs
Miller between climbs
Max showed up with Hansie. We saw Max later in the week at Tuolumne too.
Silver heads up something here
Shortly before I melted off this. Only minor shoulder damage occurred. This is one powerful arete!
Climbing, climbing, everywhere!
Pretty unbeatable view here!
Day two we started at Snowshed again, but this time went around right. It was pretty "outdoor gym scene" by the time we got there.
BN leading Palsy. This required 5.13 belay skills. I had to squat to keep from passing out at one point. Fun climb (on toprope!!)
Pointing at Palsy, BN is saying YOWZA!
We headed over to the Blackwall. BN and Silver climbed this route. The wide crack partway up rejected me.
Silver heading up...
Best not let my mom see this one.
Tough guys.
Final climb of the Donner segment of our trip. Nice onsight by BN!
Over the roof he went...
We left Reno the next morning and drove to Tuolumne. It was a soggy time there, tough we managed to get a fair amount of climbing in. And we saw many more awesome tacos. I may get something up about that part of our trip eventually.

Many thanks to Silver for setting up the HH and also for some high quality hospitality! Much appreciated along with the tour of Donner Summit - an eggzellent area, I hope to get there again sometime soon :-) Great climbs and so much to do in a compact area! It was great to meet many Tacos and share some ropes, beers and conversation - thanks to everyone who made it to the events! Ciao for now, back in cubeland...

You were missed Pirate and Piratess. And Cragman - I wish you'd have gotten a stitch or two. That think will take forever to heal. Had a friend who once sliced open his leg. He was scared to get stitches so he used duct tape instead.
:/
Took months before it quit splitting open again and again. So gruesome!!
Hope you heal up sooner than that!

Jebus - think he's happy he did it nonetheless. Just trickier placing gear blindly in a shallow flaring seam with a death fall possible. :)
I think it was harder on me while belaying than it was on him. At least it felt that way!
Ron- I thought you self-described as a hermit and introvert. I didn't mean to label you if you hadn't done it. I personally would not have pegged you as either. Time to come to Boulder for a HH here!

Thanks for saying hello BobInc! Wish we had more time but we were driving out that moment. Next time, we celebrate our birthday regardless of the date. :)
Tuolumne was equally packed with tacos: Rick Accamazzo, Dave Yerian, Hoss Julia, Lynne L, Paula, Ed H (driving back from Vedauwoo joined us for an afternoon of choss), and some others who chose to only say they lurk. Who am I forgetting?
Fun time! Hopefully after I get some of this krap off my desk, I can post more photos.
