I have never heard of this before. What exactly goes on at face lift?

Oh so tempting!!! It is just that Aris has been sick these past few days and sick babies are not fun. If he is having another episode while we are camping... People in the campsite will justifiably have to kill me. I think this week might be a clue that I should hold off. I really feel bad and yes, I want to go, show him off, see all of you. Yet babies are babies... Maybe we should do a Joshua Tree gathering, I can get a hotel with thick walls outside the park... That way if he needs to cry at night, all is good. Plus I am sure next year a seventeen month old would handle Yosemite a whole lot better than a five month old. We can miss a single year...

Yup, I'm officially out.
Anyone need any carpentry work around that time? Bay Area, Eastside, or Central Valley. That could make it happen for me. Quality work for cheap. I'll bring the essential tools.

I've never built a barn, but I've built lots of houses. If you're looking for a timberframe, I don't have too much experience. Aside from that, I can jump into just about anything without hesitation.

I was going to offer to bring a smoker, but then I realized that smoking a giant hunk of beef for half a day would probably attract the entire population of bears and keep them in YP for the duration of the Facelift.
We could do the smoking on lawn at the Ahwahnee...

I second Barbarian's idea. You should bring that smoker to the Ahwahnee and yes, I want pictures! :P It might even be better than the picnic table trick in Joshua Tree.

You and your family's presence will be missed, but you are doing the right thing. If there's one thing I understand, it's travelling with babies and kids. This needs to be fun for everyone. And if it's not, it can quickly escalate! There will be more opportunities and I like the JT idea. Much less of a drive for you as well. Plus the security of being in a "kid bunker"... well not for you guys since you'll be in it anyway! Ha ha!

I should be heading down Tomorrow or Thursday til Saturday. If anyone has a spot in the Valley to throw down a bag or my tent I will be glad to pay the whole fee in return. I'll also pick up you favorite libation if requested :)
Very much looking forward to attending my first facelift and pitching in to make our Park a little better place.
Would have made reservations months ago but I never know exactly when or if I will be able to be in the Valley

Climbski2 - hey, glad you can make it! It's my first Facelift, too. I think I saw on the Facelift other things thread by Nita that some free camping opened up @ Yellow Pines (?). Might want to check it out. Good luck!
