Sorry, I didn't want to get involved. The Wiki table shows only 2 deaths, one in Alaska and one in Canada in this century as I stated. 5 people killed by wild wolves in the entire 20th century in NA is a ridiculously small amount.

No need for humans to demonize wolves when they do it themselves.
Wolves like to eat Elk calves. Preferably before they are born. So the
typical wolf pack will drag down a pregnant Elk and remove the baby from
her in such a hideous manner that the Wolf huggers must get a special
thrill.

That's nature. Deal with it. Should we get rid of sharks too if they kill a pregnant whale? We're doing a pretty good job of destroying them as well.

I presume its also nature if people in the mountain states want to shoot every last wolf.
And humans in general are happy to eliminate every last shark.
As top predator, that's nature.
So what's your problem?

My problem is that my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren might not know what wilderness is because some self-appointed, short-sighted, and so called "top-predators" can't keep their god damned itchy fingers off their triggers when wolves cross their paths.

Before the wolves were reintroduced to the lower 48 and people wanted to see wolves and wilderness,
they took vacations in Alaska and northern Canada. If the wolves disappear in the lower 48 again,
they can still go to Alaska or Canada to see them.

The way I see it wolves need unfettered (read - unmanaged) wilderness which
does not exist in the Lower 48. Hell, it doesn't exist in large areas of
Alaska any more.

Yup, my vote goes to Lance for VP on the Santorum/Rokjox ticket. Santorum would surely welcome RJ's homophobia, and when reason fails, he could call on his VP to come in and threaten violence. That's the way to settle differences of opinion all right.
