Had the first confirmed casualty on Tuesday when I picked up the heads from sandblast. #143 has a fatal crack on the bottom of the head.
I also had another few set backs.
I emailed Russ last week and have not heard from him. I don't want to be waiting for slings in the end. I have an offer for a back up sling manufacturer if I can't get ahold of Russ in the next couple of days.
The samples were sent to Lewis on Friday. He got them on Wednesday. He hasn't called so I will try to call him tomorrow to iron out details on the handles. Getting these is going to be crucial.
I bought the wrong gauge of stainless for the tangs. 14 gauge is what I bought . After reviewing John's notes it needs to be 13 gauge. 13 is a little of an oddball. It used to be more prevalent. Maybe that was how John got a hold of it. My usual supplier had no clue how to find it. My secondary supplier had it in stock and I'll have it on Monday. It is a $260.00 dollar mistake.
I am pushing hard to have these done near the end of November. At the latest would be the first part of December.

Right on, Theron. I'm just enjoying "The D5 Show".
Hey, BTW, I found that other shoe. You want it?

Ha ha! Hell yeah I still have the other one!
I don't know how many people I have told "Keep looking for the other shoe. It's probably at the bottom of the bin." The bin has something like 20 and a half pairs of shoes.
I still get a kick out of the box you sent last time:

T man, that's only like a dollar per person more. Cost of construction built into the price. :)
Venture capital dollars ;)

"Venture capital" still comes out of my pocket right now. It'll go back later but it is wasted time and money at the present. I need the capital for the leashes and anything else that comes up. No real worries. Just a minor setback.

I'll go look right now.... autoresponder lies sometimes. The server pumps those out, but sometimes the inbox never sees the meat.
Edit: nada. Not in the trash, not in the junk, not in the inbox. Is your IP on some international spammer list? I'll check again later and then send you an email.

that crack is very worrisome. Which steel did you go with, and what was your heat treat spec?

Duece: 46-48 HRC and 4340 Steel per your notebook. Yeah it worries me too. I think I am going to mock a hammer up and smack some stuff to do some informal testing.
Russ: Hotmail account. Hmmm...it has worked in the past. I've had the same address for over 10 years.

Cool. I just checked the server folders and there is 500,000.... yes, half a million messages that have been tagged as junk or spam in the last 60 days. Damn! I'll dial down the spam filters and put the phasers on stun.
Edit: never showed up. Sent you one from WideFetish.
