Happy Holidays to YOU, Moosedrool!
Thanks for being a positive contributor to this thread.
By the way, what's plural for "Moose"?
(I have my own answer, but I don't think it's correct.)

It's great to come back here after a long break, peek in and see all the posts you all contribute. Thank you so much.
So are you Leggs. Did you get what you needed for Christmas?
Time with my Pickle on Christmas Eve was the best present a mom could ask for. And hey, thanks for encouraging me to stop by this thread tonight and remember how wonderful and enjoyable life truly is, even during hard times. You're a good friend, Dingus.
This is for you:

the valley of a thousand secrets.
mucci and i were hiking thru bramble after
tangle, our scopes fixed on a distant slab
of rock that handsomely draped the mountain's slope.
we were hoping for a first ascent.
big packs, sweaty brows, abrasions and cuts,
then we entered the valley of a thousand secrets.
josh was going on and on about gourmet pasta sauce
and spicy autumn beers...
i politely interrupted,
"josh. you hear that?"
he stopped short..."...pumpkin ale has no right-of-way on the shelf..."
then he intently listened.
a multitude of quite conversations fluttered about our heads,
like invisible butterflies, or like some fool uttering poetry
during her orgasm... and
all at once the sound ripples they gently crested on ear-drum beaches.
i looked about and realized that the sides of this canyon
were like wave crests themselves, breaking in concave reprieve
with little overhanging fins at the top.
as such, no sound escaped this valley,
and every conversation that had ever been uttered here
still bounded about off the concave walls.
they didn't remain as they were borne, though.
instead they impregnated one another and intertwined
like woven line.
logic became ill-logic.
and the sentences, they were architecturally significant.
we entertained those thousand secrets,
and then approached the base of our slab.
a fine line pierced the plate of stone,
and like the rest of the valley,
our slab graduated to vertical and then
kicked back beyond and the exit-summit-mantle
josh executed beautifully.
we're not sure what to call the line,
we might just leave it nameless and
any future parties will have to learn the easy way.

Those seem like harsh words for Tucson! I remember it as a really nice place,
but I won't tell you the last time I set foot there. ;-) Flew in there
a year ago, but didn't get off the plane, and it still looked nice from the
air, although it did appear to have outgrown its skin.
