I love it when I hear a song in a TV series that I have been listening to for a long time gets played at one of those critical moments of the show...
I feel somewhat vindicated in my listening vocabulary includes music that other people like as well as I think I do. But at the same time I fee like my secret is being let out, like if others here this my music will be everywhere and I won't be able to get away from it... as if it is the new norm...
I would not want to suffer anyone to listen to music I enjoy or find meaningful to me, but at the same time I want to share with everyone music I find appealing.
But what happens when the role is reversed?
I've never watched a TV series crime drama to get new music ideas as I feel that I am out in front of a different wave than the average bloke.
But what do I do when I hear something that strikes at me in a strange personal way...
What if you heard a song that seemed to explain your existence, your perspective and your emotional connection to this earth. What if a song explains to you what has always been the case, right in front of you... that you never took the time to take a look into...
In this case, watching a new show I heard some words of a song that hit a chord in me that I could not disregard...

Edit: Tobia - Thank you for confirming that I have good taste... as I feel you do. Loved Chan Chan from the moment I heard the first verse...
Didn't understand it fully, but knew that it was important, or meaningful and soulful.
Cheers

jingy, that's what this space is all about, w/o the nasty expressed on some other threads because the music (opinion) doesn't agree with you.
Nothing like hearing a favorite song come up in a movie ; it has a way off making the music come alive. Quentin Tarantino has the soft touch for combining film and music.

Tobia - Kimbrough and Burnside are on a frequency of their own, the rawness and earthedness of their music is remarkable...
