That evil trench next to Turlock broke my ankle. I remember when it was farther away and Turlock's backside use to have nice flat ground. I do miss that. I also remember it shifting after the Northridge Earthquake. Part of the ever changing choss pile we call Stoney and yes... I loved it there too. That's when Kamps showed up, saw it had moved and grinned. He had a whole new set of problems. That man was awesome.

I'm planning on coming by Stoney tomorrow afternoon on my way up to Ojai. And since I want to see all my bros I'm going to bring the BBQ and some hot dogs!
Been ages since I climbed at The Point and I can friggin' wait! Respond here if you can bring any supplies and let's make this a kick ass BBQ!
Also, I'll have a box of Stoney Point: Portrait of an American Crag dvd's which I'll be selling for $20 a pop so bring some cash!

The rad thing to do is to hide in the little "cut outs" along the side and let the "CoastLiner" go by at 55......
Cole .... see you Thursday

True, but there was a time two of us did not hear usually the vacuum would be a dead giveaway but this time there was no way to make it so we had to drop in water trench. The rails are about one foot higher, trench being used for water to flow downhill. You could see the sparks hitting the walls from loose straps and cables. Most likely cut you in half or have a bad headache at least. Would happen a few times until the conductors would call the police but every time everyone knew where to hide.
Days of drinking and smoking.
Nice to hear one of the group

The "evil trench".... is now huge.
The ground is getting washed away, quickley, the exposure is now huge....
much more than like 5 years ago.
Also I think the Northridge Quake changed the angle of the overhanging side, after the shaking stopped, there was a large trench around the whole thing - except on the overhanging side, that was closed up tight.
Someday that thing is going to roll over.

As compared to a movie critic a guide book critic is entitled to one's own opinion's.

So...
On another note, is there any old/new projects developing into something different? As holds break, things shift, etc? I know Stoney is a very dynamic place. What's the latest greatest people are working with, on, or around this season?

^^^^ That be the newest thing. ^^^^^
Stoney is ever evolving, things are always changing a little at a time
And sometimes a lot in one milli second.
At the same time it never changes.

I think the houses were there before the trench. Seems to me that the late eighties had some wet winters that consequently created the trench.

No the house came after. We used to park back at Turlock behind the Eucalyptus trees.
I've dug up many arrowheads & other tools where the houses now stand.
