So Ed, I know you are trying your best to ignore me, but did you see the new paper " Far Infrared Surface Emissivity and Climate? I think it came from colleagues of yours at Livermore.

Anyway, they find that polar sea ice/snow as well as high altitude snow/ice emit more IR 15-100 micons than oceans or bare land surfaces. Apparently the blessed models treats the whole of the earths surface as a black body radiator and therefore miss the variance in reflectivity/ emissions of the various surfaces. This has lots of implications. Take a look amigo, should be worth your time.

Which of the regulars doesn't act like a d#@&%ebag?

Sometimes, we get newbies, who keep it civil... for a while. Eventually, they get dragged down into the cesspool that is Climate Change skeptics? [ot].

What about looking at the ratio of valuable post and insults?

Your main goal on this and other threads seems to be to troll and insult so that you could complain about the responses that you get after a while.

Pay no attention to Sketchpuppet. He wants to be noticed. He wants to be relevant. But he's got nothing.... nothing but petty ad homs. He just shows up being an as#@&%e... hoping someone takes the bait.

Meanwhile out on the real planet ... Roy Spencer has just previewed the UAH lower-troposphere temperature for October. At +0.37 it seems tied for the warmest October in their record.

The Chief just can't pass up an opportunity to be a schmuck.

Way to go, TC, your consistency is admirable. Make sure every innocent and non-threatening post gets the dirty clown treatment--it just makes this place smell so nice.

thus NO warming. Love it.

Study up on how averages work, Chief.

LOL, none of the surface temp records show no warming since 1998.

You do have the data from a degrading orbit satellite that not even Spencer trusts. Good for you Chief.

Lol, Sketch, UAH shows warming over the 'pause' period (since 1998).

Are you trying to change the dates of the 'pause' now, Sketch?

Why don't you post one of Lord Monkton's RSS graphs?

It's so hard to know what the dates of the pause are any more.

The goal posts just keep moving.

Let me know when your new 'pause' actually reduces the long term warming rate.

It would be great if you could use averages in your answer.

An ordinary least-squares line *is* an average, in 2 dimensions: its slope is the average change in y per 1-unit increase in x. Or put another way the average (arithmetic mean) is a least-squares estimate in 1 dimension.

It seems to have been relatively flat (read: NO WARMING) for at least 12 years.

Sketch, it's curious that you keep bringing up this subject when it's been addressed so many times, in all sorts of different ways.

It's interesting that you keep asking questions that have already been answered for you.

Are you just trolling, as you often say you do, or are you unable to read previous posts that address this question?

Either way, you're not looking all that sharp here.
