He traps/kills vicious beavers. Tough guy.

"do you mean the self inflicted one from dropping a grenade into an uninhabited sampan?

Got shrapnel in the ass from that one, then wrote his own recommendation."

You are liar.

I don't believe TGT is a liar. He's just misinformed.

He probably gets his info from Rush Limbaugh. I was listening to Rush when he interviewed a guy about Kerry's action in getting the Bronze Star. The guy admitted right away that he was not on the scene to know what happened, and then proceeded to give his "eyewitness" account.

To the right wing this guy was credible. The Navy SEAL who was rescued by Kerry was, for some reason, ignored.

I didn't like this any better when The Nation tried the same thing on George H. W. Bush. They claimed he was cowardly and abandoned his crew when he bailed out of a flaming dive bomber.

I don't care much for Poppa Bush, but at least he put his ass out on the line, unlike his son.

Frum explains why trump is hesitant to probe the hack: because much of his election depended on the leaked emails and his false claims about them. He's been a Putin tool.

Good read:

Gary, tgt is a liar. He repeatedly equates the modern Democratic Party with its racist past, overlooking the southern strategy and the modern reactionary movement within the republican party. Repeatedly, despite being fact-checked. That's a liar.

SBVT's claims about the incident are primarily based on an account by retired Rear Admiral William Schachte, then a lieutenant. Schachte has stated that he regularly led training missions for recently arrived officers such as Kerry. One tactic described by Schachte was for a Swift Boat to tow the skimmer to the target area and wait nearby. The skimmer, manned by three people, "would go in, draw fire and get out immediately." The waiting Swift Boats or air support would attack the enemies thus detected. Schachte stated that he had participated in all previous skimmer missions up to and including the night Kerry was injured, although the latter claim could not be substantiated.[17][19]

In an interview in 2003, Schachte made no mention of being on the skimmer with Kerry that night; in addition, he described the action as a "firefight" and said of Kerry, "He got hit."[17]

In August 2004, however, Schachte stated that he was the senior officer on Kerry's skimmer that night, with one enlisted man also on board, that he popped a flare after detecting movement, and opened fire. He stated that there was no return fire, and that Kerry was "nicked" by a fragment from an M-79 grenade launcher he fired himself.[19] Moreover, while Schachte has described Kerry as, at the time, a "rookie [who] would never be put in command" of a skimmer mission,[20] Kerry was actually given command of a Swift Boat and crew just three days after the skimmer mission and sent into a combat area.[21]

Kerry crewmates Bill Zaladonis and Patrick Runyon dispute Schachte's 2004 account. Zaladonis stated that "Myself, Pat Runyon, and John Kerry, we were the only ones in the skimmer."[22] Runyon added, "Me and Bill (sic) aren't the smartest, but we can count to three." They recounted that the skimmer opened fire on suspected guerrillas attempting to evade the patrol, as they ran from sampan boats onto the shore. Both Runyon and Zaladonis believe, but are not completely certain, that the skimmer received return hostile fire; Runyon commented, "It was the scariest night of my life." Runyon also stated that he is "100 percent certain" that no one on the boat fired a grenade launcher.[13][23] Zaladonis has noted that Schachte went on "a bunch of" other skimmer missions and speculated that Schachte might have inadvertently mixed up his dates.[24]

In an SBVT television ad, Dr. Lewis Letson asserted, "I know John Kerry is lying about his first Purple Heart because I treated him for that injury," but did not specify the alleged lie; he subsequently gave varied accounts of his purported interaction with Kerry.[25][26][27][28]

Kerry's medical records list a medic, J. C. Carreon, as the "person administering treatment" for this wound. Dr. Letson's name does not appear on the record, but Letson claimed it was common for medics to sign the paperwork even though Letson would treat the patient. That claim cannot be verified as Carreon died in 1992. In addition, Letson claimed he was given information by way of Kerry's crewmen who accompanied him to the clinic,[27] but neither Zaladonis nor Runyon accompanied Kerry, nor has any crewman who was on the nearby Swift Boat supported this claim.

So, TGT's argument is against the actual evidence. You wonder what he teaches in class?

Instead he attacks the reputation of an undisputed combat veteran. What a coward.

Who knows what actually transpired to Kerry in Vietnam, but if we're going to rehash things that came up in the 2004 election, I always liked the clear exposition of Kerry's lying his ass off about being in Cambodia in Christmas in 1968. As shown in the below article, it's not a question of getting a date wrong, but rather a brazen, calculated lie to further Kerry's false narrative.

You can find some tepid defenses of Kerry (e.g., maybe he thought he was in Camboida and was just mistaken, although there's never really much of an explanation of why he would have thought that).
I think it's more like Brian Williams weird lies--a certain type of megalomaniac just can't help but put themselves at the center of some grand event.

I'm sorry, but you are really making news here, if you are saying that Kerry's "false narrative", that there was a secret war in Cambodia, was not, and is not, true, that really re-writes history!

Thanks for correcting Kerry, Nixon, Kissinger, et al.

Tgt's post isn't about whether or not we went into Cambodia, it's about Kerry lying about being in Cambodia. Funny, bringing up this stuff from 12 years ago. It's all a bit fuzzy, but my general recollection is that Kerry played fast and loose, always inflating his actions.

Since you have now elevated your argument to a pissing match, please compare your public service accreditation to John Kerry's.

I'm not the one that brought up ANY public service comments. I just love watching the hypocrisy in action, sometimes in the very same post such as the case with Jon Beck. But then again. let's be honest, he's an over-achiever.

But this thread continues to entertain. Watching the statist lefties get their panties all bunched up and mega-drama around the fact that the statist righties now have the wheel and they "fear for our country" and "a shred of democracy" and all this conflating speech.

If you were that concerned about it, you would have taken a step back and realized that this sh#t was gonna flip on you some day and you would have been well served to cull back the breadth and depth and size of government rather than expand it in the ways that suited YOU.

Suck it Democrats, the Republicrats are in charge now and they plan to stick it in and break it off.

Don't worry, there is a silver lining - the government will continue to grow and be even bigger and have more control over the average American citizen so when the pendulum swings around again and you get another shot to inflict your morality on the nation you'll have more power.

Later on Friday in Moscow: In a statement from the Kremlin, Putin adopted a more magnanimous tone, saying that no-one would be expelled from Russia and that he would await the inauguration of Donald Trump as US President before taking any further action. "We will not create problems for US diplomats. We won't expel anyone. We won't forbid their families and children to use their usual recreation places during the New Year's celebration," said Putin. He also invited the children of US diplomats in Russia to Christmas and New Year's shows in the Kremlin.

Ahhhh! Putin Claus

I suppose turn about is fair play...We've influenced elections in other countries and now it's happened to us...ouch..!! Does this mean the Soviet Union has chosen our next president for us...? This doesn't sit too well with me...If there's absolute proof Trump should step down and relocate to Moscow...
