Ahoy Ye Scurvy Climber Scum
Aarrr good morning mateys
I am a pirate now
I wake at two and 5 AM
Get up to make my scowl
This sciatica is killing me
Captain Hook has left his scar
Been dragged by a bull
Fell out of a tree
And run over by my car
So if you see me limping
Or tripping on my sword
I can't help it's three feet long
At least I'm never bored

I don't like the crop, but when I reduced the upper portion the 'face, seemed less defined?by clicking on the pix, you can check this effect for yourself by scrolling up and down.
some of the stones
ankle breaking rubble
cobble size,
a size best described as 2-Man Rip-Rap.
To get the idea, highway embankment bluestone in boxes of chain link,
brought to you by our incarcerated brothers.
The average age of the talus that makes up Connecticut hillsides Is ancient
pieces as big as one of those chain link cubes,
resting on rubble the size of the contents.
Lying stacked across the hillside at near 60 degrees.
Mixed in is the failing forest, a tangle of multi-year blow-downs, fresh stands of Bitter Sweet 'n rouge Forsythia,
more common white rose, brambles. that make up the root bare hillside of rock ledges, barley covered in shallow rotting forest debris, lacking top soil.
'
,
` somewhat dicey high ball balling,
- Shitballing,- as. -No landing-
its not just going splat,
theres are Levels! Beyond, hopefully missing or landing on a back breaking rock,
There is the chance off balance miss-step
resulting, in a rag-doll tumble off ledges& down steep, loose rocky slopes.

The Water Beetle
What for I ask am I to be?
Skittering along the waters reflection
With six legs and brown spots
Him that mimics my every move
And looks like me
Oh no not again
I said to no one in particular
Replying in turn no one said
Oh no not again
He said to no one in particular
Ruh roh I reared
And with a stare I glanced at him
Ignoring it for for all I care
‘Till Dusk did come
The burning ball had gone away
Retreating to my muddy home
The spring time heat
Still hanging on
But singing things
Had gone their way
Those bright specks came
And winked at me
But I’ll not say a word of it
To no one in particular
Whoever he was anyway

This is some of the best stone I've found.
Very much, I resemble the meaning of
Be careful what you wish for.
Sitting on hillsides, the surrounding stone rubble is ankle breaking size, a size best described as 2-Man Rip-Rap. Stacked on top of smaller unstable stones varying in size from cosmic's prostate to a basketball. To give some idea of the most common size,
Most of the rubble is the same as the size of the boxes of chain link fence , filled with blue-stone, brought to you by our incarcerated brothers, used for highway embankments.
The average age of the talus that makes up Connecticut hillsides Is ancient. The pieces are often as big as one of those chain link cubes, Lying stacked on that smaller stone. Spread evenly across the hillside at near 60 degrees, mixed with barley covered in shallow rotting forest debris. Given this its fabulous alpine in an urban setting. everything frozen pasted to . . . Most of the year it's the loose stuff/
somewhat dicey high ball balling,Oh-Shitballing,- Some call it. -No landings-

. It is not just about going splat,
theres are Levels!
Beyond, hopefully missing or landing on a back breaking rock,
There is the chance off balance step, on the shifting scree, and the potential for the resulting,
rag-doll tumble off ledges & down steep, loose rocky slopes
It really makes the easy things like this
rewards in themselves.

Bumping for the Flames Thread
and wondering on the whereabouts of our illustrious host...
Has he gone on a cruise,
maybe on the Good Ship Mousypop?
Happy Sails to You
May the tradewinds always be at your back
And the seas be calm and clear
May the food be fresh and plentiful
And the barf bucket always near
May the crew be bright and cheerful
And the humpbacks always breach
May the mai-tais flow and the dolphins laugh
Until you reach the beach
Happy sails to you or whatever you’re up to, Brian.

We’re going to need a lot of good blues and rock videos posted here to get us through the Mouse drought, flameskeepers. My silly poems fall pretty flat without the Mouse Poet Laureate of Supertopo to bounce work off of. We could use some Norwegian right about now.
Sweet Dreams, Chief
I saw Robert Shaw in a dream last night
As he fought off a shark with it’s teeth pearly white
The last thing he said
As I tossed in my bed
Was, “sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite.”
