From the New York Times:
Kirstjen Nielsen, the homeland security secretary, told colleagues she was close to resigning after President Trump berated her on Wednesday in front of the entire cabinet for what he said was her failure to adequately secure the nation’s borders
.
Gee, I thought that what was the border patrol was supposed to do.
On a similar topic I do not understand how Sanders can stand up and lie every day to the press; she knows she's lying and still does it. Damn, is there no self respect, no basis?
She only has that job because of her daddy. Besides, who would hire her, Walmart?

Yeah, I know who her father is, I just don't understand how anyone could can prostitute themselves like that. I couldn't live with myself; I'd be wiping the slime off all the time and run out of paper towels.

I read a profile of her about 8 or 10 months ago that tried to answer that question. Its conclusion was that she doesn’t care whether she’s lying or not, because she feels her job is serving a greater purpose. Namely (I’m paraphrasing here, of course), promoting a right wing evangelical Christian political agenda.

You and I might think that an agenda based on lies is not worth defending, but obviously that is not how she views the world.

The current philosophy coming from the right is not actually a philosophy- It's a snake oil salesman, carpet bagger and plantation owner all rolled into one with the sole intent of tearing down the State as we know it and making off with the loot.

What's the current philosophy coming from the left, other than destroy Trump?

Well, a more stable peace with North Korea would certainly be an unexpected but welcome side effect of a Trump presidency. And Kim Jong-un and Trump do have a lot in common, characterwise. So, who knows? Maybe they'll hit it off. On the other hand, I worry a bit about two such volatile wingnuts sitting down to talk. At least the encounter will be mediated through translators. Let's hope it works out for the best!

Yep. I think Kim realized he's met his match. One with a much bigger arsenal. Trump's lack of intellect and juvenile bravado may be just the ticket for peaceful coexistence in Korea.

The Conservative/right wing Christian movement is nothing other than a authoritarian cult.

It's mobsters at the top, with goodies for the loyal,
and a guarantee that you can achieve something if you tow the newest pro authoritarian talking points

Like Hitler's henchmen, the base is swarming with rats willing to take it to the next level

yet one more stone in the wall of dismissal of veterans:

White House official derides McCain over his opposition to CIA director nominee: ‘It doesn’t matter, he’s dying anyway’

Like the way they kicked the VA chief aside, in spite of his service, they seem to take great pride in deliberately insulting veterans.

I guess that the veterans have not learned that they are not independent free Americans in this equation, they are expected to be slaves.

My guess is, US oligarchy freed to do business and trade with the North Korean government, who in turn will have changed nothing about the way they treat their citizens.

There is an armistice which was

... signed on July 27, 1953, and was designed to "insure a complete cessation of hostilities and of all acts of armed force in Korea until a final peaceful settlement is achieved."

So Trump has done a magnificent job of insuring the peace for some 60 years, bone spurs and all.

Kudos Donny

And

Rudy Giuliani is having none of a debate challenge issued by one of his most outspoken critics, Michael Avenatti.

“I wouldn’t debate that guy if they paid me $10 million,” Giuliani, a new lawyer for President Donald Trump, told POLITICO in an interview on Friday. “He’s a liar. All he does is put out statements in the press and they fawn all over him.”

Mr. Giuliani — you just called me a 'pretty unsuccessful lawyer' and stated that you 'can't remember a case he's ever had that meant anything,'" Avenatti said, adding: "1st, you obviously can't remember much. 2nd, check my bio and you will find over a BILLION worth of verdicts and settlements. #dumb."

Wasting your efforts HoMan--there's not a brain cell to share among them. The saddest (and dumbest) of this little Bolivarian Circle jerk are, a.) young Master Fry; b.) Ground Brain Chuck from the Evergreen State College with no standards; and, of course, c.) Horton who, unfortunately, left his brain back in the late 1960s--and his soul on a few thousand '08 loan applications.

Of course, we can't neglect Tom--the fella who really really really likes to hear himself talk. Especially post-affirmation.
