nita,
i hesitated to comment on the T-T Band, as i post so much of them; but to answer your ? they were great. a masterful 11 piece band, a great stage presence, and a sharing of the spotlight.
i've seen both artists with some version of their individual bands and twice as the T-T band, even thought the first time was an annual combo show for New Year Eve.
Everyone was masterful at his/her given instrument and they have no problem with sharing the spotlight. Mike Mattison stepping back to a back-up vocalist role after being a lead vocalist kind of proofs that. He did sing lead on a couple of songs. Kofi Burbridge is the second coming of of Herbi Handcock and has a masterful voice, puts some funk in the beat and plays the flute. The twin drummers drive the band and are as in tune with another as the JJ Johnson and Butch Trucks duo of the Allman Bros Band. (Ironic that one the drummers in this band has the same moniker as Jai-Jai. The trombone player,Saunders Sermons, surprises the audience with his Prince like voice that hits some high notes.
The only regret I have is that Kofi's brother, Oteil Burbridge was absent on the bass, i guess he went back home to raise his family.
i think the highlight of the show was when Derek put the Gibson down and picked up a gold top Les Paul and they went into the Sky Is Crying. Susan belted out the vocals and they both did mind boggling guitar solos. Derek blows your mind with his part on the slide and Susan displays her mastery with her lead.
Sorry you asked? I apologize if I was a little wordy here; but I really get into this music and am going to see them in Atlanta at Chastain Park, a well visited amphitheater in the center of the city.

Heard this song today and had to stop in my tracks...
Something weirdly profound about this sound....
Like the long tie-together scene from crash, where all your preconceived notions get exposed to a harsh bite of reality.
Hope you get something from this
