1. The tax system in America is not progressive but regressive.
2. Money might be free speech, but its killing American Democracy. Elezarian won't be happy until Congress is completely ( as opposed to mostly) filled with millionaires or corporate sellouts.

They are so simplistic. They read a book by Glen Beck and say they have done "research" then talk about the economy as is if they were f*#king Rhodes scholars. Then they point to an instance where a canadian sought health care in the US while bus loads of americans cross into Mexico and Canada everyday to get reasonably priced care...not to mention flying to places like Thailand. Give me a break there's a whole industry based on "medical tourism" due to our system and somehow Obama has brought on the end of civilization and our enslavement by trying to address the fact that someone like me WITH HEALTH INSURANCE can't break a god damn finger without paying $5k out of pocket.....doesn't this happen to them tooo??

The 2 + 2 = 5 is really accounting, not math. There's an old joke, but worth repeating. The accountant for a family business passes away. Not sure what to do, the family called their lawyer. The lawyer told them "Leave it to me. I'll find you a new accountant before the day is done."

"But there's over a hundred accountants in town. How can you do that?"

"Trust me, I'll show you," he said.

At 4:30 p.m. the lawyer called the family to announce that he'd found them a new accountant. The family was dumbfounded. "How did you do that?"

The lawyer replied "I called all of them and asked one key question. Only one got it right. That's who I'm recommending."

"What was the question, then?" they asked skeptically. The were even more skeptical when the lawyer told them the question was "What is two plus two?"

"How could everyone but one get the answer wrong?" they asked, now convinced their old lawyer had lost his mind.

"Well, all but one said the answer was four," continued the lawyer, "but the one I recommend to you said 'What do you want it to be?'"

Remember that Shrubie wanted to privatize Social Security and invest those funds in the Stock Market? How well would that have worked? Oh yeah they wanted unfettered access to drill in the ARCTIC NATIONAL WILDLIFE RESERVE. Which they loved calling Anwar as that made it sound like a foreign country in Arab land.

My friend who did research there many years ago HATES calling it ANWAR. To him it sounds like a bureaucracy--a branch of the government--instead of a place.

But she doesn't really have to sell herself as a candidate. She just needs to keep pissing on Brown relentlessly and keep people away from the polls who might vote for him. She has endless resources to do that, and she will do that.

Tru nuff....yet Obama still won a hefty margin, and he ran a relatively clean campaign.

Edit: On second thought, dirty politicking is more of a Repug specialty. Since McCain didn't get too dirty (not as dirty as Shrub/2000, anyway), maybe it's no surprise that he lost.
