From bookworm's link: But it's not about the money, you see. It's really about safety. "Cutting jobs, slashing wages and benefits of employees and cutting corners are affecting the safety of the blood supply," the union's Frank Hornick told the Parkersburg (W.Va.) News & Sentinel.
Well, yeah.

Perhaps someone can show me where a Republican said government is the enemy, rather than the problem. Two different concepts.

Grover Norquist, mouthpiece for several Republican astroturf groups:
I don't want to abolish government. I simply want to reduce it to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grover_Norquist
Sounds like an enemy to me. And he has lots of fellow-travellers and ideologues.

Got to love this........
29 August 2008
Republican Jewish Coalition Executive Director Matt Brooks issued the following statement today:
“By choosing Governor Sarah Palin as the vice-presidential candidate, John McCain once again demonstrates good judgment and a commitment to challenging politics-as-usual. As governor of Alaska, Palin has enjoyed a strong working relationship with Alaska’s Jewish community. She has demonstrated sensitivity to the concerns of the community and has been accessible and responsive.
“Palin has a proven track record of experienced and principled leadership. Palin has been a leader on the critical issue of energy independence and lessening our need to buy oil from nations not sharing America and Israel’s foreign policy interests.
“Palin is anything but the typical Washington pick. A former commercial fisherman and mother of five children, Palin is an exciting and vibrant leader. She will bring a unique perspective to the presidential campaign. Her frontier spirit and triumph over adversity will benefit John McCain and the entire Republican ticket. Together, they are a dynamic team. They will show the American people that on the critical issues facing this country the Republicans have the right solutions. John McCain and Sarah Palin are ready to face the tough challenges ahead.”

Don't blame the Republicans. We let them have power. We wanted them to run the country. They were upfront about their plans. It was no secret. Their plan was to screw us all over to enrich a short-sighted few. They've followed through with their promises.
They said they'd run the country like a business, and they have.
Now the question is whether or not America is smart enough to realize that. No, like a drunk, we won't realize the truth until we hit rock bottom. That's gonna hurt, like it did in the '30s.
fattrad, you've been a good bootlicker, but that won't spare you either.

"I can't look at them, and I feel bad about posting them"
Yeah, they're pretty heinous, and that's just the start. I hope they keep comin', though, and that the media doesn't shy away from putting them square in the face of all who dare to look at them.
Americans are well-known for only responding to issues once they have reached crisis stage. Images like this, combined with $5/gallon gas, are the only hope that we have to see any real progress towards alternative energy sources and an emphasis on conservation.
Anyone who solely or predominantly blames BP, Obama, Shrub, Dems or Reps for this tragedy is displaying the highest level of hypocrisy. We are all addicts, and we are all complicit in this mess.

Sounds great but I think there are degrees of blame and who should carry it.
1. BP, Transocean and Haliburton would lead the list.
2. Lobbyists, Mineral Management and the EPA.
3. Louisiana wanted the jobs at all cost and got them.

Excellent post, apogee. It appears, though, that those to your left don't buy it.

Come now, you really have to be gullible to believe that BP would want this SHeet to happen. Since Barry is in charge, we must blame Barry!
It's the same logic as blaming "W" for Katrina ... Now that Barry has been in office for over 38% of his four-year term. Got a question ... when is Barry going to stop partying like it's 1999 and start treating the responsibilities of the office like it's 2010. Time to stop campaigning and lead ... bafo!
Time to stop blaming the repubs for the dem's Fu*k-ups ... grow up children.
