I was thinking that if you put a bunch of people on a small island, they kind of have to get along. You make someone mad, and you'll probably see them again before too long. Maybe getting along worked, especially in the past, when no one had very much and it was a long way from anywhere.
Also, if it is pretty much always warm and sunny, it isn't practical to hurry. The sun and the ocean feel good too. No doubt, a big part of it is the Hawaiian culture. There can be some ugly localism (around the world). No doubt, people lost tremendously, but still I believe the aloha will always be stronger.

A First listen to Laura Cantrell's new cd.... i enjoy her music, though i've only seen her play live once. My Brother-in-law, Fred, is friends with Laura and did the art work on her last cd.
That is how i was turned on to her music.... Liking her new songs...

nita, didn't udderstand the ?; but i think the answer is in response to zb's Wallflower post. i always thought that is where the younger dylan got the inspiration for the name of his band; maybe not.

marlow, billy in the photo is one tough hombre to be running two saws with 26"-28" bars; but it looks like overkill for the size of the wood he's hauling :) i wonder what kind of saw the white one is?
