this is yet another sh*tpot that GWB left for his successor

Have you looked at previous budgets by the evil Bush?

The first 800 billion budget was Bush's fault, but how long are you going to blame Obama's lack of market-confidence on Bush?

Who proposed over 2 trillion as an addition for 'us'.

It almost seems like Obama wants the market to fail. All he has to do is come out and say positive things, but he doesn't. He comes out and says we're doomed because of the other guys.

He could fix this....

TGT, put the kool-aid down and look at when that bill was created, and by whom. Or continue to keep your head in the desert through which the GOP continues to wander.

Ron Paul is one of the few in Congress that says that house price's in the US are not sustainable given Americans' incomes...they must come down. Sorry home owners, but he's right. No more monopoly money, and the median income has been going down, down, down since 2000.

Of course, median income went up under Clinton, but down under Reagan and H.W. Bush. So what do Republican's do well in government?

Ron Paul may go down in history....as a spark that triggered a 3rd party.

The dude makes good points that dirtbags should comprehend.

Bluering-

Today is March 11, 2009. Obama was inaugurated on January 20, 2009. That is seven weeks, one day into his presidency (though I am sure it seems much longer to you and TGT). Most, if not all, of the policies/directions he has created have not even been enacted yet, let alone had enough time to see if they actually work.

There is NO PERSON on this planet (not even McSame, or your beloved Reagan) who could impact the sh*thole that we are in that quickly. Stop whining (silently) about the fact that your guy lost, and put your energy towards solutions. We are all in GWB's sh*tpot together, after all.

PS- the GOP started the 'kool-aid' reference abotu 25 years ago, after the Jim Jones/Guyana tragedy. That phrase has legs, and I ain't about to give up a good thing.

Rankin, let's leave that out. It's just too hard to tell who's policies worked and which didn't. It's hard to prove.

I'm still waiting for a reply........

EDIT: Apogee, do you admit he's over his head?

I could govern better right now.....

Kinda like a seven-week old presidency, perhaps? Or do the rules change when it ain't your guy?

bluering, I agree that Ron Paul is different than most Republicans...he's principled and has some very sound ideas. As a major national candidate, he has a slim chance of doing anything. Third party candidates don't win, but they definitely affect the outcome of the election, by tipping the scales in favor of the candidate they are more opposed to. What are the Republican to do? How can you marry the principles of the libertarian Ron Paul with the anti-intellectual, radical social conservatives that dominate the base of the Republican party? Seems irreconcilable to me.

Is O over his head? Yeah, I would say he is, but there really isn't anybody on the planet who has all of the requisite skills to deal with this mess. It is way, way, way too early to say his efforts have failed, though. Even if McBush had won, I would say the same thing (though maybe not in public).

You know how all of the Repub-Bots said that time and history would tell if the Iraq war was a good idea? It is easy to say the same thing about this situation.

This is the whole problem. You idiots that agree with this are the problem. These people are minimal and insignificant...

bluering, I love it...'let's leave that (trickle down economics has failed) out of it'. Hilarious. No way, the lesson to be learned from today, as well as the 30s, is that a powerful economy cannot remain stable with a weak consumer class. If most people don't have any money, abrupt deflation sets in and cripples the economy.

Who are you talking about? It's pretty hard to envision the GOP without the Religious Right, and all of the anti-science, cultural issues that go along with them?

yeah, apogee, it may be too early. What scares people like me is that all of our Socialist, neo-Marxist statements, seem to be coming true. And it's been a very short time in office.

Look up Communist Manifesto, Venona papers, Saul Alinsky, Obama

bluering, are you saying that social conservatives are a small, insignificant segment of the Republican party? Don't be a fool. The rich voted for Obama...by 20 points. Social conservatives are the most consistent voting block for the Republicans. That, and people like you, who vote Republican, but don't have any reason to.

I'm not ssure what your point is, Rankin.

Social liberals are cool?

Social conservatives are Nazi's? (even though they oppose genetic manipulation and liberals dig it).
