I probably didn't punctuate it very well. It's for real though. Blow Brothers do port-a-potties and septic tank sucking and their slogan is right on the sides of their trucks. "We're #1 in the #2 business"

I know I've posted this one somewhere before. It's climbing related for sure.

Screaming Yellow Zonkers!
I want that one bad; that picture makes it look fierce.

I love the solid color ropes.
I think Chiloe has a blue one from you, in the low 9 mm category.

Nearly 30 years of climbing in New England and I had never gone to do SYZ. It was worth the wait. Not a great angle, the photo doesn't do it justice; hard to do while belaying that one.

Another classic John Cleare photo, from Rock Climbers in Action in Snowdonia (Smythe & Cleare, 1966). For anyone who missed that thread -- if you come across a copy of this vintage book for sale, it's brilliant and the first of its kind.

Here ya go. These are wood nuts that Dave Rearick made, and George Hurley led on, the day in 1973 when that team made the first all-wood ascent of Twister on Twin Owls. The recommended pro for this climb nowadays, sez MountainProject.com:
1 set small to medium nuts. Single set of SLCDs from green Alien to hand sized. 2 #3 Camalot, 1 #4 Camalot, 2 #5 Camalot, 1 #3 Big Bro

Incidentally the picture above was shot at the same time as the one below, which I posted awhile back as the "worst historical photo ever." Nobody could identify the climbers when I posted it (how could they!), although we had several inspired guesses. Anyways, left to right they are Dave Rearick, George Hurley, Tom Kaufman, Betsy Herbst, Joe Herbst, and Deborah ?

A big loop from Montucky to Napa to Seattle and back landed us today at Donner Summit climbing with a past Santa Barbara partner.

realmojede on the fine Cali stone after some coaxing.

edit: checked the OTHER site for the name: Composure (5.6)--and a damn fine one, according to the wiff.
