Different sports have different attributes helped by different drugs.
For curling, as for such things as archery, it is not strength that makes the difference, but nerves and concentration. Something like a beta blocker, which diminishes the effects of adrenaline, would probably allow one to be more accurate and calm. It's use in an endurance sport would be disastrous.

What is remarkable, is that any countries can end up effectively competing with the US, Russia, China and India. As the largest countries, they have the greatest genetic resources to produce standout athletes. It's understandable that India doesn't, because their society is not geared toward physicality rising to the top. The other three definitely are.
For example, the US has these amazing national training centers. Promising athletes can go there, subsidized, and get top-notch coaching, psychology, nutrition, physical therapy, training, scientific measurement of performance.
I believe they've done evaluations on high altitude climbers.

Nothing remarkable at all.
In individual sports, one may expect the percentage of winners from various countries to basically track the countries based on some combination of population, average wealth, and interest in a particular sport.
That's pretty much how it plays out, except for a few outliers. For example, Norway stands out (maybe Trump was on to something about wanting more Norwegian immigrants, and they are a group of Supermen/women?)
There may also be some exceptions for sports where outcomes seem to be correlated to ethnicity, but that's a different subject and we're not going there!
But those are outliers, the important point is there's nothing surprising about the results as a whole.

Germany beats the Canadian men's hockey team in the semifinals. Maybe we should be building the border wall to the north to keep the Cannucks from fleeing their "country"(if you can call it that)!

Reilly! Re your comment: Suisse beat Canucks for curling Bronze? The Apocalypse cannot be long off now.
You may well be right. During a company-sponsored trip to St. Moritz in 2012, we engaged in a Swiss-Style curling match. Them Swiss don't even curl like "white-folks." Note the upright stick attachments on the stones.
Although, I have to say, them Swiss do have some mighty-cute train conductors.

The picture of Diggins/Randall is great. The expressions on the faces tell it all.
The ground level rabbit (rail mounted) camera during the stretch run gave a great feel for the speed involved in the final stretch sprint (stands going by in the background for perspective.)
They were moving, Diggins was diggin'. What a rush it must have been to pull that off.
