I'll bump the age down a tiny bit. Just turned 44.
And yes, it's cool to climb and chat with all you dinosaurs. Quite a few years ago I bumped in to Rusty Baillie at Mt Charleston, and was lucky enough to trade belays for a day.

I've added some pictures to my earlier post.
I have no problem telling people my age, I've earned my wrinkles.
I agree with Jan men often dodge the age question. Especially when they start dating women 20 or 30 years younger than themselves. Chuckle
I did not realize that I was one of the oldest females who is still contributing to super topo. Oh dear how did that happen.

Park Rat:
Fact i will not be dating a 5 year old or a 15 year old.
Never knew a man to lie about their age just saying. Nothing is impossible though and i believe some do, not the type i have known in my short 35 years...

Hi McCfly,
You're way too young to need to lie about your age or date women half your age. This phenomena usually happens as men pass their 50th year.
I often refer to 35 as the time I began to become my own person. I was massively insecure about who I was until I reached my mid-30s and coincidently started my antique business. I began to have a confidence in myself that I had never had in my 20s. Even though I had been on my own for the time I was 18 and put myself through college I was never that sure of myself. However, I was good at putting up a confident front so no one would know what I was really thinking.

58, how the h#ll did that happen ?
My climbing partner ,who is a youngster at 53, fell last summer and tore something in his knee . He had no choice but to hobble 12 miles back out over boulder fields , glaciers and steep side hills of scree and mud to the car.
When we got back, the doctor told him that his problem was that his mind thought he was younger than he was.

Wandered up Sugar Mountain and then promptly booted off by some guy named Neil Young about 31 years ago.
Add a 51 to the chart.
Older partners that like to tell me I'm just a youngster have to be reminded I'm closing the gap percentage-wise every day ! Competetive instinct, like I'm gonna pass them one day

Rockandice,
so funny! my partner is about to turn 60, I'm 56, and he can still climb circles around me. Will be a sad day when (or if?) our respective falling trajectories cross.
Edit . note that I already gave my age in an earlier post so don't add another 56 to the tally. You can add a 59 for my partner who is a ST lurker.

Malemute, just the poster I want to talk to.
I don't get your question to cowpoke several pages back. Could you clarify for this simpleton? Thanks.
cowpoke, why do you have 4 histogram bars between your axis tics?
What am I not seeing there that you are?

Ha, it's funny to get carded for beer, I usually just show them the top of my head.
Little Z - I'm not so much looking to improve my numbers as I am just trying to tread water these days and not lose ground. Taking more and more work just to tag my highpoint though once in awhile. Learning I need to be less and less lazy to stave off the backsliding

[HFCS - other than the first graph that I posted, they have been corrected. But, if you look at the first graph in the thread, you'll notice that there are only 4 vertical bars between each tic mark (and the tic marks correspond to 5 year differences). In other words, each vertical bar was not containing a unique value for age (some bars contained, for example, both 54 and 55 year olds).]
The median is presently at 53.
Here are a couple bivariate graphs. Because I know almost nothing about all of you, I had to go with two of the few observable factors (that could be easily counted in 15 minutes or less) = do you use a pseudonym or your real name (e.g., your first name, your last name, or a combo) and do you include a picture of yourself or an avatar in the photo box alongside your name?
Because they had a pretty sizable pull on the slope of difference, I excluded our two users younger than 15 yrs (but added them back in, in case you are interested).
Short story = on average, older STers are somewhat more likely than younger STers to use their real name and to include a picture. (Interestingly, because few people use real name and have a self portrait, these trends are not due to the same people in each case.)
for those interested, here is what happens if we include the two youngest STers
pud, if this is too much just say "stop" ...don't want to hijack the thread with graphs

My max set of pull-ups today is 20 less than my age. On a good day recently it was fifteen less... I must be getting older!
