So, so sorry to hear this, Dean. Amazing that he rebounded the way he did from earlier this year, though.

No doubt he is in the safest, most loving place he can be at this time. Peace to all of you right now.

I hope he stays comfortable through the night, for both your sakes. Our dogs stand vigil over us they're entire lives. To be able to do the same for them at this time of need is the least we can do in return.

Peace for both of you.

Wishing you the best Dean. Cush was lucky to have had you and yours for so many years. I'm sure you feel the same of your pup....

I'm sure it's been said but remember, all dogs go to heaven, whatever their idea of heaven might be.

I had my golden at the beach chasing the ball in the surf at sunset tonight. That's his idea of heaven. He's almost eleven and it breaks my heart to even think of him passing.

My heart and thoughts are with you Dean, and Cush too. Such a good dog.

Hi Dean...
My thoughts and vibes are with you and the family... and sweet Cush ... always.

Recall all the wet nose days and doggie smiles as you help your best buddy ease into the next stage of his existence.

Peace and love to you. ~LM

God bless Cush, Dean. I don't know what else to tell you, you're a man of reality and this is what happens to our little friends.

It's never easy, and always tears at our hearts, but in the end we keep going back for more. I know I always do.

People do not like discussing this because sometimes our dog-friends are closer to us in more ways than most people. They offer utter trust and unconditional love, unlike some of our human friends. I think that is why it's so hard. They love us unconditionally, yet their lives are in our hands.

It's up to you to decide when it's time for Cush to go, and he will not stop loving you. If Cush is suffering you have a duty to help him out, to send Cush to a place where the is no pain, only love.

I know it's hard, bro. God bless you, Cush, and enjoy those bacon-bones!!!

I feel for you, Dean. I am a cat owner in particular but I love all animals and I think this post on The Oatmeal is poignant as well as funny http://theoatmeal.com/comics/dog_paradox

So sorry to hear about Cush, he's a nice dog.
Bacon! Awesome he enjoyed a treat though.

Hang in there, try to get some fluids in him. Just remember, you have lots of love surrounding all of you.

Sorry to hear that, and I feel your pain. Lost a Lab to a stroke earlier this year, and the worst thing was that I was gone on a business trip when it happened. Be glad you got the time that you did. I'm sure he feels your love.

My prayers are with you...Went thruogh same thing. Slept on floor for days. After thousands spent on vet bill, They charged us to put him down, Wife did not tell me until later. I would have done something I would have regreted. My little dog "Bumpy" is at peace now under the apple tree...Frank..
