Is that a kit or did you design and build it?

Saw a 10/22 that someone cut down and fit into a M249 body a couple weeks ago at the gun show. Had it sitting up on the table and I thought it was a replica. Nope, fully functioning 10/22. Thought that looked like fun.

Didn't ask him how much he wanted for it. I can't imagine cutting up a SAW machine gun to convert it into a .22 would be that economical.

Possibly a parts kit?

Unless he has a class 3 FFL with a demo letter from a police department it was not a real functioning m249 he cut up.

It is a twin mount with a crank operated trigger camshaft.

Still working out the bugs, but I've fired 60rds in about 4-5 seconds.

Nope, wasnt a parts kit for sure.
He took the guts out of a M249, made or somehow attached the barrel to look authentic, cut the bottom where the trigger group was to be able to set the 10/22 in and made a slit and channel in the side to allow the ejected .22 shells to eject from the m249 body. The pistol grip remained but the trigger and guard were that of the 10/22 protruding out the bottom. You could lift up the magazine feed and see the little .22 sitting in there. It was really well crafted.

I think it might have been a replica movie prop type thing that he cut up. Visually, it was all there.

Depends. shooting my single shot remington is pretty darn tame unless your actually hunting. I had a 9 shot rossi revolver once that had nice rubber grips on it. I shot some short IPSC courses with it at blazeing speeds with pinpoint accuracy and that was pretty darn fun.

Just got my Baby Eagle .40S&W back from the gunsmith today.

Still have some cheap ammo to try it out with.
