Does Cadel Evans have the juice to pull back 57 seconds in the ITT tomorrow? Is Danielson a decent time trial guy? Would love to see him improve on his current #9 place.

Now they're talking about Pierre Rolland!

Under normal circumstances Cadel would probably (maybe) beat Andy in the time trial by enough but, with the Maillot Jaune on, Andy may "have wings."
It will be close.

The TT tomorrow is the same as was used in the Dauphine, and won by Tony Martin in 55min. That should be enough time and distance for Cadel (who is pretty good against the clock) to catch Andy. But you never know.

I'll go against the grain here and go with Cadel in tomorrow's TT. He's not getting any younger and might see this as his best chance to ever win the tour. I think he can bring back a minute on both Andy and Frank. Whatever, this race is something to savor. Bike racing at its best IMO

Time trial is 42.5K. I can see Cadel making that up on both Schlecks in that distance. Could we see another LeMond/Fignon finish tomorrow?

So is it just me or are those 'fans' getting crazier?
How do consideryourself a 'fan' if you're bothering, at the least, or even
endangering your idols? Contador took a swing at one a@#hole.

It also seems to me the gendarmes are a little more pro-active this year.
There were some gud shots of them grabbing some loonies and throwing them back
into the crowd. Don't French cops carry mace?

Great stage today...it is what makes the Tour so special. Any of the top three are ok in my book...still pulling for Cadel...he has been so solid.

Bob -

Spot on. I really respect Evans and love his style of riding. Yep, he's getting up there. Wouldn't mind seeing him bust the TT wide open. A definite swing at the youngins on the Tour. However....

There is no rest for the aged. With the fire, undaunted motivation and the glowing feel of Yellow.......Andy will ride the ride of his life to pull this off. Three cheers for one of the best tours I've come to witness!

Good luck boys!!

It doesn't look like los Gendarmes are carrying mace. Just truncheons and .32s.

Those crazy fans have been camped on the side of that road all week. And by the time the race came through, all of them who are old enough to tie their own shoes are higher than kites because they've been drinking cheap wine from the minute they woke up this morning.

Whether or not Hesjedal is a domestique - his performances last year and this year suggest otherwise - the money behind the tour isn't ready for a Canadian winner.

It was effective. It left the doctor standing on the side of the road, with both hands on his face.

That "doc" was really f'ing with Contador, putting a stethoscope onto him while he's riding up Alpe d'Huez. I woulda whacked him too.

Edit:
This was one of the best days of riding I've seen. Those guys were really pushing themselves to beyond the limits. Amazing what A. Schleck did, especially with what he did yesterday. The TT tomorrow will decide who rides yellow on Sunday.

MMCC,

I was thinking the same thing today. There seems to be so much more parity now, and everyone is laying it on the line.

Rob, if it is a Lemond/Fignon finish tomorrow I bet no one will drop to the ground weeping. No disrespect intended to the "Professor."

They might drop to the ground in total exhaustion.

MMCC, yes the tour is better in non-domination years. The Indurain and Lance years just were not as good.

edit- It is ALWAYS good though.

I shoulda' done this earlier but....

I mentioned the contest I have with myself earlier in the thread.
I'm not doing that great.
Here are/were my predictions.

For Stage Wins
Chavanal
Voeckler
Farrar
Cavendish
Hushov
Vino
Gilbert
Cancellara
Contador
Frank S.

Stage one-I put Gilbert, crossed him out and put Hushovd, Gilbert won
Stage 4-Gilbert
Stage 12-Contador
Stage 18-Evans
Stage 20-Cancellara

Best Placed American-Horner
Podium (in no particular order)- A. Schleck, Contador, Horner
Winner (Maillot Jaune)-Contador
King of the Mountains (Polka Dot)- Sandy Casar
Sprinter (Green)-Hushovd
Best Young Rider (White)-Tejay Vangarderen
Team- Radio Shack
Out for drugs- Contador

4 points so far. I should get 3 more when Cancellara wins tomorrow and when Andy podiums.

If only Chris hadn't crashed out!

Cadel has ridden an amazing smart race...he has answer every attack by the Schleck's and Contador.

I think he is going to get a well deserved win.

Dave,

Agree there won't be any professor drama ;-) I bet it will be decided by less than 30 seconds in the end. Tomorrow, the Schlecks and Cadel are all going to places they may have never been before.
